The Network Engineering team is responsible for operating that network reliably and at scale. The team’s job responsibilities include monitoring network performance, coordinating planned maintenance, adjusting hardware components and responding to network connectivity issues. GFiber's complex network generates a constant stream of challenges which require you to continually be innovative with an evolving set of technologies. Role Description
As a Technical Operations Manager, specializing in OSP Engineering, you’ll support the Network Deployment and Operations team by managing engineering practices for the Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network. In your role, you will oversee the design and permitting process for SFUs, MDUs, and SBUs, while coordinating with the OSP network team on project activities and financial reporting. Additionally, you will manage vendor production to ensure adherence to guidelines and standards and collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless network design execution.
In this role, you'll:
- Support the Network Deployment and Operations team by managing the engineering practices of GFiber’s OSP Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network.
- Support the network deployment to Single Family Units (SFUs), Multi Dwelling Units (MDUs), and Single Business Units (SBUs) through management of our design and permitting process.
- Interface with the GFiber Outside Plant (OSP) network team to coordinate project engineering activities, progress and financial reporting, invoice review, and change management.
- Manage production with various vendors to ensure they are following proper guidelines and standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly execute on network designs.
At a minimum we'd like you to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in managing scalable, outside plant projects, FTTH or outside plant engineering projects.
- Experience with inside and outside plant fiber optic network infrastructure, engineering design and construction.
- Experience with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and/or ESRI platforms, including experience with CAD or shapefile operations
It's preferred if you have:
- Experience managing and leading teams of more than 5 people.
- Contract or vendor management experience, including defining scope of work and quality controls.
- Prior experience with aerial and underground construction methods.
- Capital budget management experience.
- Experience interpreting fiber test results and auditing projects for compliance with scopes of work.
- Prior experience with outside plant equipment and materials
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $114,000 - $139,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
