About This Role

We are looking for a Strategic Finance Senior Lead to guide the next phase of new customer growth through Faire’s product-led, viral customer acquisition engine – Faire Direct. It turns every brand on the platform into a customer acquisition channel, as brands capture the value tied to consolidating their existing retailer relationships onto Faire, thereby growing the network for everyone.

The Strategic Finance team at Faire is organized around both product roadmap pillars and functional coverage areas (e.g. departments or company-wide objectives). This role would serve as the primary Finance Business Partner (i.e. “mini-CFO”) to the product and go-to-market functions driving Faire Direct and its vision for becoming the dominant Brand Wholesale Platform.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive clarity on Faire Direct performance through owning operational and financial forecasting.
  • Maintain guardrails that drive investment discipline and steer partners to allocate capital efficiently.
  • Work closely with cross functional partners to develop, understand, and track execution plans against goals.
  • Translates how Faire Direct product and GTM investment activities are impacting financial results.
  • Communicate the financial narrative of Faire Direct performance to senior leadership.

This role will require the ability to spot opportunities/risks, develop hypotheses, pressure test inputs, forecast outputs and generate data driven insights. The individual will partner closely with the several teams that have the mandate to drive Faire Direct growth (Retailer Growth, Brand Growth, Brand Success Management, International).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years work experience in strategic finance (preferred), private equity / venture capital, investment banking, and/or management consulting.
  • AI-forward working style: Actively experiments with AI tools to accelerate and sharpen analytical work — whether that's automating rote modeling tasks, pressure-testing assumptions, or generating faster first drafts of complex analyses.
  • Strong modeling muscle: able to build and stress-test financial models that are both grounded in historical evidence and operationalized with levers that demonstrate how investment activities translate to positive impact and ROI.
  • Forecasting depth: Strong ability to identify and understand the key business drivers, build forward-looking projections, and translate those into reliable predictions of future growth — connecting operational inputs to financial outcomes with conviction.
  • Analytical rigor: can synthesize information, decompose problems, and use data and logic to diagnose root causes. Comfortable going deep on unit economics without losing the thread on the most important strategic questions.
  • Excellent communication: credible, structured storytelling for executives and cross-functional partners; able to zoom-in and zoom-out between the details and key takeaway narrative
  • Cross-functional partner: track record building trust and alignment across Product, GTM, Business Development, and Operations; organized with strong deadline management across concurrent workstreams
  • A get things done mindset - resourceful and not afraid to roll up sleeves when necessary to move forward tactically. Your approach to monitoring performance balances fidelity with execution velocity.

Nice to have:

  • Work experience
    • At a two-sided marketplace or platform business where growth is driven by network effects and supply-demand dynamics between distinct buyer and seller audience
    • Partnering with go-to-market or growth teams — structuring and evaluating incentive programs, acquisition investments, and the payback economics that determine where and how to deploy capital
    • In or adjacent to the brand->retailer->consumer ecosystem, ideally from a small business enablement perspective.
  • SQL or comparable data proficiency to pull and manipulate analyses without relying on partners for access to information required for analysis or financial models.
