What You'll Do:

The Manager, Social Services provides clinical and operational leadership for social services functions across the observation and inpatient units. This role is responsible for overseeing the efficient coordination of assessment, admission, treatment planning, resource coordination, and discharge planning processes to support timely transitions of care and positive individual outcomes.

In collaboration with facility leadership and interdisciplinary teams, this position supports the delivery of high-quality, recovery-oriented behavioral health services while promoting operational effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and continuity of care. The Manager, Social Services also partners closely with community stakeholders and referral sources to strengthen resource coordination and optimize discharge and placement outcomes for individuals served. This role also offers an exciting opportunity to help support the launch and continued growth of Connections Health Solutions' new Loudoun facility, contributing to the development of innovative, recovery-oriented behavioral health services while helping build strong clinical partnerships, operational excellence, and exceptional care experiences from the ground up.

This role provides both clinical and administrative oversight to social services staff and plays a key role in staff development, clinical supervision, quality improvement, and program operations. This position also presents an exciting opportunity to support the continued growth and development of Connections Health Solutions’ new Loudoun facility, helping establish strong interdisciplinary partnerships, operational excellence, and high-quality, recovery-oriented behavioral health services within an innovative crisis care environment.

serves as a clinical and operational leader with both direct and indirect responsibilities for individual care delivery and nursing operations. In partnership with facility leadership, this role supports the development, implementation, and oversight of systems of care that promote continuity of care, positive individual outcomes, regulatory compliance, staff development, and a collaborative interdisciplinary team environment.

Clinical Operations & Service Delivery

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations and functioning of social services staff supporting the observation and inpatient units across a 24/7 environment.
  • Supports timely assessment, admission, treatment planning, discharge planning, and resource coordination processes to promote continuity of care and effective patient flow throughout the facility.
  • Monitors movement and throughput across inpatient and observation units and collaborates with facility leadership and community partners to address barriers impacting placement, discharge, or continuity of care.
  • May complete psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, discharge planning, and other clinical responsibilities in the absence of a Case Manager or Therapist.
  • Provides operational support and shift or unit coverage when staffing needs arise and pool resources are unavailable.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provides clinical and administrative supervision, mentorship, coaching, and leadership support to social services staff and other behavioral health professionals, as appropriate.
  • May provide clinical supervision to unlicensed or master’s-level licensed employees pursuing professional licensure, supporting their clinical growth and development in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Supports the recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and professional development of social services team members to maintain a high-performing, service-oriented workforce.

Quality, Compliance & Program Oversight

  • Develops, implements, and supports clinical programming and service delivery practices in collaboration with Medical and Clinical Leadership.
  • Actively participates in quality assurance, program compliance monitoring, and performance improvement initiatives to ensure adherence to regulatory, accreditation, payer, and organizational standards.
  • Supports compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and organizational policies, procedures, and documentation standards.

Community & External Partnerships

  • Collaborates with community providers, referral sources, hospitals, counties, MCOs, and other stakeholders to strengthen community partnerships and support effective discharge planning and continuity of care.
  • Supports efforts to identify and expand community resources that improve access to services and successful transitions for individuals served.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs all other duties as assigned in support of facility operations, patient care, and organizational initiatives.

What You'll Bring:

  • Master's Degree in a behavioral health related field
  • Current licensure by Virginia Board of Behavioral Health (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) and identified as a Clinical Supervisor by respective licensing board
  • 5 years of behavioral health or relevant experience
  • 1 year of supervisory or management experience
  • Must be able to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques
  • Unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) through the Virginia State Board of Nursing
  • The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company’s exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment
  • State of Virginia Fingerprint Clearance
  • Must be able to pass Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (VA DBHDS) background check
  • Must be able to p ass Virginia Department of Social Services (VA DSS) Office of Background Investigations - Central Registry Search

It would be great if you had:

  • Prior experience providing crisis services and/or working in a psychiatric facility
  • Knowledge of and experience with VA DBHDS and DMAS regulations
