The Mission
The Public Sector Strategy Team is the engine behind Wiz’s explosive growth in the government sector. As our footprint expands, we are seeking a Principal Strategist to serve as the primary executive bridge between Wiz and the Public Sector CISO community. This role isn't about managing configurations; it’s about opening doors, building high-level trust, and architecting the strategic pipeline necessary to maintain our market leadership.
Reporting to the World Wide Vice President of Public Sector Sales, you will act as a senior diplomat and "force multiplier" for our sales leadership, ensuring Wiz is the first name government executives think of for cloud security.
What You’ll Do
- Executive Door Opening: Act as the strategic lead for "breaking into" new agencies and accounts, leveraging your existing network and executive presence to secure meetings with CISOs and Agency Directors.
- Pipeline Architecture: Partner with Sales Leadership to identify high-value opportunities and design the "long-game" strategy to move them through the funnel via executive sponsorship.
- Strategic CISO Advisor: Serve as a peer-level advisor to senior government leaders, helping them navigate high-level mandates (e.g., Executive Orders on Cybersecurity, Zero Trust transitions) without getting bogged down in product specs.
- Market Influence & Thought Leadership: Represent Wiz at the highest levels of industry discourse—keynoting at major summits and participating in closed-door executive roundtables to position Wiz as the mission-critical standard.
- Internal Strategic Link: Feed market intelligence back to the Product and Strategy teams to ensure our roadmap reflects the evolving procurement and security priorities of the US Government.
- Partner Ecosystem Growth: Cultivate relationships with the leadership of major System Integrators (SIs) and CSPs to create collaborative "win-win" routes to market.
Who You Are
- The Connected Strategist: 15+ years of experience navigating the State and Local Goernment , with a deep Rolodex of contacts and a reputation for integrity.
- Revenue-Driven Mindset: You understand that technical vision is only as good as the pipeline it generates. You have a proven track record of influencing large-scale enterprise deals.
- Master of Executive Communication: You can translate complex security trends into business and mission risk discussions that resonate with a non-technical Agency Head or CFO.
- Navigational Expert: You possess a sophisticated understanding of Public Sector procurement cycles and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, CMMC) from a strategic perspective.
- Self-Starter & Diplomat: You thrive in unstructured environments and know how to build consensus across Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to drive a unified go-to-market front.
Requirements
- Location: Preferred proximity to the DMV area (DC, Maryland, Virginia) for face-to-face executive engagement.
- Travel: Up to 35% for high-stakes customer meetings and industry events.
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required.
Candidates must meet EAR part 772 and ITAR 120.15 definition of a U.S. person (Any individual who is granted U.S. citizenship; or any individual who is granted U.S. permanent residence (green card holder); or any individual who is granted status as a “protected person”) and that they reside in the contiguous United States.
