As part of the strengthening of the activities of an international maritime company operating an offshore support vessel fleet, we are looking for a Technical Solutions & Standards Manager to join the Asset Management division.
Reporting to senior technical leadership, you will play a key role in defining, driving and promoting maintenance and reliability standards across the fleet. Acting as a technical reference within the organisation, you will lead improvement initiatives, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and support the continuous enhancement of maintenance performance and asset reliability.
Your main mission is to analyse, structure and improve technical processes in order to reduce failures, enhance vessel performance and optimise fleet availability.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Process Improvement
- Analyse existing maintenance practices across the fleet
- Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
- Develop and deploy standardised maintenance processes
- Contribute to the structuring and optimisation of Planned Maintenance Programmes (PMP)
- Promote best practices and ensure alignment across technical teams
- Coordinate stakeholders involved in maintenance optimisation initiatives
Objective: Improve consistency, reliability and efficiency of maintenance practices across the fleet.
Failure Analysis & Reliability Improvement
- Lead or participate in the analysis of Unplanned Maintenance Periods (UPMP)
- Conduct and facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for significant technical events
- Ensure effective implementation and follow-up of corrective actions
- Capture lessons learned and prevent recurrence of failures
- Drive reliability improvement initiatives across the fleet
Objective: Reduce recurring failures and maximise vessel availability.
Technical Performance Monitoring
- Analyse maintenance and reliability data to assess fleet performance
- Identify trends, recurring issues and areas of concern
- Contribute to the development of performance monitoring and reporting tools
- Present findings and recommendations to management and technical stakeholders
- Support data-driven decision-making through technical analysis
Objective: Strengthen fleet performance through measurable and actionable insights.
Standards, Governance & Technical Leadership
- Define, maintain and promote fleet-wide maintenance and reliability standards
- Provide technical guidance and support to vessel and shore-based teams
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and lessons-learned processes
- Contribute to technical procedures, policies and continuous improvement programmes
- Act as a focal point for maintenance and reliability best practices
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives involving technical, operational and asset management teams
Objective: Drive technical excellence, consistency and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
Lifecycle & Asset Management
- Monitor equipment obsolescence and associated risks
- Contribute to upgrade, refurbishment and modernisation programmes
- Support the long-term technical evolution of the fleet
- Work closely with Life Cycle Management and New Build teams
- Provide technical input for strategic asset management decisions
Objective: Anticipate future technical challenges and support sustainable fleet development.
Requirements
- Maritime education (Merchant Marine) or Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation or Maintenance Engineering)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical, maintenance or asset management functions within the maritime or offshore industry
- Previous experience as Chief Engineer, Technical Superintendent, Fleet Technical Manager or equivalent senior technical role
- Strong knowledge of marine systems, including propulsion, power generation, electrical and automation systems
- Proven experience in maintenance optimisation, reliability improvement and technical performance management
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across operational and technical teams
- Experience in developing standards, procedures and continuous improvement programmes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and pragmatic approach
- Comfortable operating in an international and multicultural environment
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable recommendations
