Senior Platform Engineer, AI Enablement (f/m/d)
Zenjob
Posted about 10 hours ago
About the Role
At Zenjob, we believe that AI will change the way companies work. We embrace this change as swiftly as possible to outpace our competitors, streamline operations, and deliver more value.
This role sits on our Platform team and reports to the Director of Platform Engineering. The Platform team builds and runs the foundations the rest of Zenjob relies on, from infrastructure and developer tooling to data and security. AI is the next horizontal capability we are bringing into that scope.
Your mission is simple: empower every team at Zenjob to do more with AI. You will spend your days embedded with internal teams, understanding their problems, advising on where AI fits (and where it doesn't), and building the internal tools and platforms that move the needle. You will also help raise the AI baseline across the whole company by teaching, documenting, and pairing with the people who want to build with AI themselves.
If that sounds exciting to you, continue reading.
Your role in our team
You are the senior engineer that internal teams come to when they want to "do something with AI." Sometimes that means building a workflow end to end yourself. Sometimes it means pairing with another engineer so they can build it. Sometimes it means telling them they don't need AI at all and pointing to a simpler fix.
Day to day, you will
Talk to teams across Operations, People, Finance, Sales, Product, and Engineering to understand their operational challenges, and find the AI opportunities with real impact.
Prototype, build, and ship internal AI tools and integrations from first conversation to production rollout.
Run enablement in whatever form works best: office hours, internal workshops, written guides, and 1:1 advisory sessions that help colleagues use AI well and safely.
Set patterns and reusable building blocks (prompts, evals, agent scaffolds, internal APIs, documentation) so teams aren't reinventing the wheel.
Integrate AI models and tools into existing systems and processes, and feed your learnings back into our AI infrastructure and platform decisions.
What makes you a good candidate
The best person for this role is part builder, part teacher, part consultant. You like solving real problems for real colleagues more than you like chasing the latest model release, and you can tell the difference between the two.
We think you'll thrive here if:
You have senior-level engineering experience and can own a project from idea to production without needing a manager to break it down for you.
You have shipped real things with LLMs in production, not just demos. You know your way around prompting, evals, retrieval, agents, and the guardrails that keep all of it safe.
You are a strong communicator who can talk to a finance lead, a product manager, and a staff engineer in the same afternoon and leave each of them better equipped.
You enjoy teaching. You write good docs, run useful workshops, and pair generously.
You are pragmatic. You ship the smallest useful thing first, then iterate based on what real users tell you.
You are curious and self-driven about where the AI industry is going, and you can separate hype from substance.
Bonus points for hands-on experience with:
AI/ML libraries and APIs: OpenAI, Anthropic, Huggingface, scikit-learn, pandas, NLTK, OpenCV.
API development: Flask, FastAPI, Node for creating APIs to serve AI models.
Databases: SQL, NoSQL, vector databases.
Low-code / no-code workflow engines like n8n, Temporal, Retool Workflows, Zapier.
Building internal developer tooling, platforms, or shared services that other engineers consume.
A track record of mentoring or teaching, formally or informally.
