About the Opportunity

We are looking for an Environmental Planner to join our collaborative team of planners, biologists, and resource specialists in our Seattle office. In this role, you will support a variety of environmental planning efforts, contributing to meaningful projects that serve communities and natural resources. Our team partners with a diverse range of clients, including local and regional municipalities, state and federal agencies, and Tribal governments. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex infrastructure and environmental projects while growing your technical and professional skills.

Your Role on the Team:

  • Support and/or lead environmental planning efforts, including for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) reviews.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of environmental documentation for environmental impact statements (EISs), technical reports, and other types of analysis.
  • Participate in environmental permitting processes and agency coordination.
  • Assists in interpreting and complying with Federal, state, and local regulations and guidance.
  • Conduct research, data collection, and analysis to support planning studies.
  • Perform or support geospatial analyses using GIS tools.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and reliable project support.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Environmental Sciences, Geography, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 1+ years of relevant environmental planning experience, preferably in a consulting or public sector environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment on large, complex projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to quality and client service
  • Familiarity with NEPA, SEPA, and environmental permitting processes
  • Experience supporting transportation or other complex infrastructure projects is highly desirable
  • Proficiency or experience with GIS and geospatial analysis preferred

Hourly Range
$33.65$40.86 USD

Compensation is determined by factors such as education, experience, location, and role. As employee-owners, we are eligible for performance-based bonuses and our salaries are reviewed annually. We value transparency and look forward to discussing our compensation structure.
