The Opportunity
We are seeking a Research Engineer to design and build advanced physical systems in a multidisciplinary environment. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on developing and integrating hardware and software into functional systems.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate concepts into practical implementations, contributing to the development of robust, scalable engineering solutions, including engineering in biological settings.
### Key Responsibilities
Design and develop hardware-based systems and subsystems
Build and iterate on prototypes and engineering platforms
Integrate hardware, software, and control components into cohesive systems
Develop and execute engineering tests to evaluate system performance
Support system build, bring-up, and troubleshooting activities
Contribute to experimental setups, including work in biological settings
Analyze results and drive design improvements and optimization
Document designs, configurations, and test results
### What You'll Bring
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field
0–5 years of experience in a relevant engineering or applied science field
Strong background in electromagnetics, magnetic systems, or related domains
Experience designing and building hardware systems
Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, COMSOL, ANSYS, or similar)
Experience with control systems, embedded systems, or signal processing is a plus
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on engineering environment
Experience in magnetic system development is strongly preferred
Experience in neuroengineering, neuroscience, or related biomedical fields is strongly preferred
Exposure to engineering in biological settings is a plus
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to partner across scientific, engineering, and business teams.
