This junior role is Responsible for assessing and underwriting personal lines risks presented by calls and transactions aligned with corporate risk appetites. They will be responsible for assisting brokers with inquiries related to billing and complete transactions. Ensure risk reviews are performed within authority levels, regulatory and compliance requirements. Contribute to achieving the department's operations and quality metrics by reviewing individual performance indicators. Provide broker insights and trends to leaders and senior members of the team. Ensure consistent quality service is provided to broker partners by reviewing feedback provided by quality reviews and customer surveys.

What will you do?

  • Providing service excellence to internal and/or external customers by managing individual productivity to successfully meet service levels for the business unit.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the range of our insurance products and how that knowledge can be used to meet client/broker needs and act on cross and or up selling opportunities to support corporate initiatives.
  • Proactively identify broker trends and work with senior team members/leaders to create action plans.
  • Demonstrate Knowledge of acceptable risk appetite, authority levels, regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrate knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for billing
  • Apply underwriting and billing processes and procedures for all transactions.
  • Look for solutions to support corporate initiatives.
  • ​​Manage work duties as assigned in a fast paced, results driven team environment ensuring individual productivity measures are met for all transactions, calls and, emails.​

What will you need to succeed?

  • 2 years of underwriting experience in personal insurance is required
  • CIP designation or working towards designation is preferred
  • Proficient computer skills with strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite programs
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision

Location: Please note that this role operates in a hybrid environment, with two days a week (Tuesday and Tuesday) expected in our Cambridge Ontario office.

The expected base salary range for this position is $ 48,500.00 - $73,000.00. Depending on your relevant experience, skills, qualifications, market conditions and business needs, base compensation may vary. You have the potential to earn more through Gore Mutual’s discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.

Please note: This range reflects the expected base salary for this role but may not represent the full compensation range for all experience and skill levels. During the recruitment process, we will discuss and consider how your unique qualifications align with the broader range for this position.
