We are currently looking for an experienced Project Accountant who is familiar with working on large multi-disciplinary projects. As a Project Accountant, you will own the financial operations of the projects assigned to you. You will be a valued member of the project teams, taking initiative to help solve problems as they arise and approach challenges with a can-do attitude. Your analytical abilities and spreadsheet expertise turn incomprehensible numbers into meaningful data, allowing DIALOG’s leaders to make strategic business decisions, propelling our business forward, and ensuring the financial wellbeing of the projects. 

You will be responsible for the accurate and timely entry and reporting of data in our financial system. This role will conduct full-cycle project accounting and will directly work with architects, landscape architects, interior designers, planners, structural, mechanical and electrical engineers to record, track and control progress billings, project costs, and budgets on projects with a range of complexity.

### How you’ll make a difference:
 
  • Reviewing various types of contracts and fee letters (hourly, lump sum and CPM) 
    • Work with Project Managers to properly setup and maintain projects in accordance with the Client contract (this includes labor, disbursement, and consultant budgets) 

    • Ensure projects have current and complete resourcing and project plans 

    • Manage financial aspects of consultant relationships from input to payment release 

    • Support Project Managers during the billing and earned value analysis monthly cycle to ensure accuracy of coded costs and revenue recognition 

    • Prepare monthly invoices in accordance with specific project billing requirements 

    • Analyze Work-In-Progress (WIP) monthly and prepare the WIP back up sheet 

    • Attend internal and external project meetings as applicable 

    • Attend/facilitate monthly revenue review meetings with project explanations 

    • Prepare and issue project performance reports accurately and promptly 

    • Update monthly revenue projections based on PM discussions regarding project schedules and project plans 

    • Responsible for collecting AR on your projects and inputting collection notes in our ERP system 

    • Attend and participate in Project Accounting meetings and development workshops 

    • Facilitate internal monthly project performance meetings with internal stakeholders 

    • Accurate and prompt preparation of standard project reports and adhoc requests 

    ### Who you are:
    • 7+ years of project accounting experience within a medium to large sized firm in the architectural and engineering industry 

    • Previous experience with progress-billing accounting in a multi-disciplinary Architectural, Engineering, Construction firm, an asset 

    • BST accounting system experience preferred, aptitude for learning new accounting systems required 

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Commerce, or related field an asset 

    • Polished communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to seamlessly partner with non-finance minded personnel to build effective relationship as trusted advisor 

    • Driven professional-minded individual with high level of initiative; ability to demonstrate proactive approach to problem solving 

    • Inquisitive - not afraid to ask questions and investigate alternatives before recommending solutions 

    • Detail oriented and ability to dig deep and perform analytics to draw insights from data 

    • Able to adapt quickly to changing work demands without compromising accuracy and quality of work
