The Opportunity

We are seeking multiple Senior Developers reporting to our Head of Development to help design and build the next generation of our technology stack from the ground up. This is a full-scope role spanning everything we build — from our flagship trading platform and centralized data platform to UIs, APIs, market data architecture, integrations with third-party vendors, testing frameworks, deployment pipelines, and the business logic that powers it all. We’re looking for avid coders who are equally avid business problem solvers — engineers who get “lightly enraged” by inefficient systems and take it out on the keyboard by building better solutions. You will work closely with business, operations, and leadership to embed technology decisions into the firm’s strategy, with minimal bureaucracy and maximum ownership.

What You’ll Do

  • Help design and build Tradewinds 2.0, our flagship platform for deal funding, trade optimization, and order submission — from the ground up, across the full stack.
  • Build Data Platform 1.0, our centralized platform for firm and market data, including Bloomberg integration, risk calculations, portfolio analytics, and data governance.
  • Partner directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into working software.
  • Design and build APIs, backend services, and user interfaces across the full trade workflow — front-office order entry through back-office position management and reconciliation.
  • Architect and maintain market data pipelines, ETL processes, and integrations with third-party vendor data feeds.
  • Build and maintain testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and deployment tooling to keep business-critical applications running reliably — downtime matters.
  • Own systems end-to-end — from requirements gathering and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Build business logic for trade workflows, position management, portfolio analytics, and risk — learning the underlying financial concepts deeply as you go.
  • Evaluate and integrate third-party vendor systems where it makes sense; build custom where it doesn’t.
  • Stay current on modern tooling and AI-assisted development, applying new techniques pragmatically where they accelerate the work.
  • Identify inefficiencies in existing systems and processes — and build the solutions to fix them.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and the engineering standards of a rapidly growing platform.
  • Help shape the technology direction of a growing financial firm — if it needs to be built, you’ll touch it.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7-12+ years of professional software development experience
  • Financial domain exposure — you’ve worked on financial systems in some capacity (treasury, trading, position management, back office, fund admin, fintech, etc.)
  • Strong fundamentals in one or more enterprise programming languages (C#, Java, Scala, F#, Python, etc.) with functional and/or object-oriented experience
  • Experience working on business-critical, complex systems where downtime matters
  • Ability to hold your own in business conversations — can explain basic financial instruments (equities, bonds, options, swaps), understands trade workflows and position management concepts, and is comfortable learning new financial concepts as needed
  • Strong collaborator who can also drive initiatives independently
  • Preferred — cloud platform experience (Azure or AWS or GCP ecosystem)
  • Full-stack experience across backend services, APIs, and front-end UI; data integration work (pipelines, ETL, vendor data feeds); and a DevOps mindset (CI/CD, automation, monitoring)
  • Active use of AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Google Gemini, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar), a public GitHub showing experimentation, side projects, or open-source contributions

How You Work

  • You see inefficiencies and build solutions — whether that’s contributing to open source, building a side project, or taking a finance course just to understand the business better.
  • You get energized by greenfield development and system architecture decisions, and you’re comfortable wearing multiple hats.
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and bring structure and pragmatic decisions to evolving situations.
  • You collaborate well with a small senior team but can also drive initiatives independently end-to-end.
  • You’re curious about AI and actively use LLMs in your development workflow, learning new tools and stacks outside of work.

What You’ll Get

  • The opportunity to shape the technology direction of a growing financial firm and impact the design of new business segments
  • Variety — no day is the same; you’ll work across UI, APIs, data, and infrastructure on a modern cloud stack with the freedom to choose the right tools.
  • The chance to learn financial markets in depth while building cutting-edge systems alongside people who share your passion for great software.
  • Autonomy and ownership — minimal bureaucracy, a collaborative working environment where every voice is heard, and the ability to drive decisions without layers of process.
  • A fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment where you’ll learn something new every day and your impact will be meaningful and immediate.
