About the Role

We are currently looking for a Staff Product Configuration Manager for our offices in Munich. In this role, you will be the architect of our product data backbone. Your mission is to establish and own the scalable, robust, and traceable product configuration processes that underpin our robotic platforms from engineering and industrialization to production and service.

You will define how product structures, variants, BOMs, and engineering changes are organized and controlled across the entire product lifecycle. Working closely with teams across the company, you will ensure our rapidly evolving robotic systems remain structured, configurable, and maintainable as we scale from prototypes to full production.

What You'll Build

  • Architect and own the product configuration framework for our advanced robotic systems.
  • Define and master our Bill of Materials (BOM) strategy, including EBOM, MBOM, and SBOM structures across development, industrialization, production, and service.
  • Establish and govern the standards for part structures, naming conventions, revisions, and technical documentation.
  • Lead the engineering change and configuration management processes (ECR/ECO), ensuring seamless transitions from design to production.
  • Act as a cross-functional driver between engineering, industrialization, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and service organizations.
  • Ensure end-to-end traceability, consistency, and release control across all product data and documentation.
  • Develop our variant management and modular platform strategies to support a growing product portfolio.
  • Shape and refine the product lifecycle and release management workflows that drive our operational excellence.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of our engineering standards, configuration workflows, and overall product data quality.

What You Bring

  • A degree in Engineering, Product Lifecycle Management, Systems Engineering, or a comparable technical field.
  • Several years of experience in configuration management, product structure management, PLM, or engineering data management.
  • A strong command of BOM structures (EBOM/MBOM), product variants, revisions, and lifecycle processes.
  • Hands-on experience with modern PLM, PDM, or ERP systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill, SAP, or similar).
  • Experience coordinating product structures across PLM, CAD, ERP, and manufacturing environments
  • Proven expertise in engineering change management and product release governance in fast-moving development organizations.
  • A systems-thinking mindset and a structured, analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to act as a key interface across engineering, production, and supply chain organizations.
  • A pragmatic and hands-on approach suited for a fast-scaling engineering environment.
  • Experience in automotive, robotics, aerospace, defense, or other complex hardware industries is a strong plus.
  • Fluency in English is required; German language skills are a valuable addition.

Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.
