Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator 4 to support critical IT operations, vendor coordination, asset management, and technology administration activities. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work closely with agency leadership and technology stakeholders to ensure efficient IT service delivery, compliance, and operational support. Preference will be given to local Richmond-area candidates due to on-site requirements.

Job Description
We are seeking a skilled IT professional to coordinate and support technology operations across the agency. The role focuses on vendor and contractor management, IT asset tracking, software license administration, help desk coordination, project support, website content coordination, and technology compliance activities. The selected candidate will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams while helping ensure reliable and secure IT service delivery. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to mission-critical operations while supporting technology initiatives and organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
Technical Duties
- Coordinate IT vendors and contractors to ensure successful delivery of technology services and support activities
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventories and software license records
- Support help desk triage processes and escalate technical issues as appropriate
- Provide general networking and systems support awareness across agency operations
- Assist with cybersecurity awareness initiatives and compliance-related coordination activities
- Monitor technology-related tasks and ensure timely resolution of operational issues
Administrative Duties
- Track technology projects, service requests, tickets, and operational tasks
- Maintain documentation related to IT assets, software licensing, and vendor activities
- Coordinate website content updates and publishing activities without performing web development functions
- Support procurement-related technology activities as needed
Collaboration
- Serve as a liaison between agency personnel, vendors, contractors, and technical support teams
- Communicate project status, issues, and operational updates to stakeholders
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts to support agency technology objectives
Operational Support
- Assist with technology planning, resource coordination, and service delivery activities
- Support compliance efforts related to Commonwealth of Virginia and VITA standards
- Participate in operational reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure technology resources and services align with agency needs and priorities
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of experience managing IT vendors and contractors
- 5 years of experience tracking IT assets and software licenses
- 5 years of experience with project coordination and ticket/task management
- 5 years of experience performing help desk triage and escalation activities
- 5 years of experience coordinating website content updates and maintenance activities
- 3 years of experience with general networking and systems knowledge
- 3 years of experience using Microsoft Office and productivity tools
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future
- Must physically reside within the United States for the duration of the assignment
- Must be willing and able to attend an in-person interview if selected
- Must be able to work on-site as required in New Kent, Virginia
- Must acknowledge and agree to on-site work expectations prior to any hybrid work consideration
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience supporting cybersecurity awareness and VITA/Commonwealth of Virginia compliance coordination
- 3 years of hands-on network administration or systems administration experience
- 3 years of hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience
- 3 years of experience with VITA IT procurement processes and the eVA system
