Oracle Interface Designer - Consultant

Posted 30 days ago

OfficeKuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

A functional Interface Designer produces the specification that determines whether an integration works the first time or goes through five defect cycles. If your Interface Design Documents are precise enough that a developer can build from them without a single clarifying question, and your integration test cases catch edge cases before UAT, this is your workstream.

ABOUT ROLLING ARRAYS

Rolling Arrays is a private equity-backed, award-winning HR Tech consulting firm — Asia Pacific's premium partner for enterprise HR digital transformation. Headquartered in Singapore and with offices across India, Malaysia, Australia, and Hong Kong, we have delivered more than 200 HR Transformation projects since our founding in 2009, and were recognised as one of Singapore's Top 100 fastest-growing companies in 2025. We specialise in SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, and Workday across the full delivery spectrum: HR process design and consulting (ALIGN), technology implementation (AUTOMATE), change management and adoption (ADOPT), and managed support services (AMS).

POSITION SUMMARY

RAC is hiring a Functional Interface Designer to produce integration design documentation for Oracle HCM implementations. This is a functional — not a developer — role. You will map HR data flows between Oracle HCM and third-party systems, produce Interface Design Documents, support integration testing, and maintain the interface inventory for your assigned engagement.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Elicit integration requirements from client HR and IT stakeholders — running interface workshops that go beyond what data flows where to capture trigger, frequency, error ownership, rejection handling, and the business consequence of a delayed or failed interface
  • Produce complete Interface Design Documents for every in-scope integration — covering source and target systems, trigger, direction, frequency, field-level mapping with transformation rules and code conversions, error handling approach, volume estimates, and the reconciliation method
  • Map Oracle HCM data objects to target system fields — knowing what is available via REST API, HCM Extract, and SOAP service respectively, and flagging mapping gaps where Oracle does not hold the attribute the target system needs
  • Validate built integrations against IDD specifications — working with OIC developers to confirm the build matches the design, raising formal defects with evidence when it does not, and documenting approved deviations
  • Prepare and execute integration test cases — positive, negative, and volume scenarios — and drive defects to resolution

WHY ROLLING ARRAYS

Interface design is a delivery-critical workstream at RAC — not a task assigned to a developer with a functional note attached. You will build a rare functional-integration skill set across Oracle HCM's full suite of integration patterns, with a clear pathway to Senior Interface Designer and Integration Workstream Lead.

OUR CULTURE CODE

Six values define how we operate every day at Rolling Arrays:

  • Thinking Smart — spot patterns, chase smarter solutions, and illuminate the path to greater productivity
  • Never Stop Learning — refine and elevate skills constantly; explore the world with a curiosity lens
  • Being Nice to Everyone — treat everyone with genuine warmth and respect, regardless of seniority
  • Be Super Patient with Customers — exercise patience and proactivity in every client interaction
  • Help Your Teammates — share the load, lighten the stress, nurture a truly collaborative team
  • Acknowledge Your Mistakes — embrace mistakes as steppingstones; grow from each one

Requirements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 2–3 years of Oracle HCM or HRIS functional experience with integration exposure on at least one implementation project — has contributed to or produced IDDs in a delivery context
  • Demonstrated ability to produce complete, developer-usable field mapping documents
  • Working knowledge of Oracle HCM data model — knows what fields are available for integration across Core HR, Absence, Payroll, and Talent modules
  • Experience working alongside OIC or middleware developers and understanding what they need from a functional specification to build without re-engagement
  • Integration test case development experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications HCM Process Essentials certified — the foundational HCM credential; the expected starting certification at Consultant level
  • Oracle Global Human Resources Cloud Implementation Professional — working toward this demonstrates that interface design work is grounded in Oracle HCM module depth, not just documentation skills
  • Oracle Cloud Platform Application Integration 2025 Professional — the OIC certification; a functional interface designer who understands OIC architecture can produce IDDs that developers can build from the first time
  • Hands-on Oracle HCM Extracts exposure — has read extract definitions and can specify an outbound extract requirement

BUSINESS & CONSULTING SKILLS

  • IDD precision — produces interface specifications at a level of detail that an OIC developer can build from without clarifying questions; vagueness in the spec is a defect
  • Requirements elicitation discipline — extracts the trigger, frequency, error handling, and business consequence of failure — not just the field mapping
  • Developer collaboration — understands what technical teams need from a functional specification and communicates in a register they can act on
  • Integration test rigour — builds test cases that cover happy path, error conditions, and edge cases before claiming a test is complete
  • Interface catalogue discipline — maintains the inventory as a live document, not a one-time snapshot
  • Learning agility — adapts to new integration patterns and third-party system contexts across engagements
