Who we are
Helsing is a defence AI company. Our mission is to protect our democracies. We aim to achieve technological leadership, so that open societies can continue to make sovereign decisions and control their ethical standards.
As democracies, we believe we have a special responsibility to be thoughtful about the development and deployment of powerful technologies like AI. We take this responsibility seriously.
We are an ambitious and committed team of engineers, AI specialists and customer-facing programme managers. We are looking for mission-driven people to join our European teams – and apply their skills to solve the most complex and impactful problems. We embrace an open and transparent culture that welcomes healthy debates on the use of technology in defence, its benefits, and its ethical implications.
The role
Every company Helsing acquires must be financially operational within thirty days of close and fully integrated within one hundred. This role owns that outcome. As M&A Integration Manager for Finance, you will lead the finance integration of every entity Helsing acquires, from pre-deal due diligence through to full ERP and process convergence. Integration speed is not incidental; it is a direct determinant of deal value. You will build and maintain the Finance Integration Playbook, coordinate Day 1 and Day 100 deliverables, and partner with the leadership of acquired entities in a way that makes the transition feel collaborative while holding firm on Helsing's financial operating standards.
The day-to-day
- Own the Finance Integration Playbook, covering ERP migration, chart of accounts alignment, intercompany setup, treasury onboarding, and control framework extension for every acquired entity
- Lead finance planning and execution for each transaction, managing Day 1 deliverables including opening balance sheet, banking migration, and payroll transition, and Day 100 deliverables in coordination with the Head of SAP Finance & Data
- Conduct finance due diligence before deals close, including financial model sense-checks, hidden liability audits, data quality assessments, and Day 1 readiness checklists drafted pre-signing, and track synergy realisation from Day 1 with clear, structured reporting to senior stakeholders
- Partner with the ICS Lead to extend Helsing's control framework to every new entity within ninety days of close, ensuring controls are operational rather than notional
- Use AI agents to accelerate finance due diligence, including auto-classification of trial balance anomalies and flagging of revenue-recognition risks, and deploy LLM-powered document synthesis to produce integration status reports, Day 1 checklists, and synergy tracking dashboards
You should apply if you
- Have led finance integrations end-to-end as the primary integration lead on multiple transactions, managing ERP migrations, chart of accounts harmonisation, multi-entity consolidation, and intercompany reconciliation from signing through to steady state
- Understand deal mechanics in depth, including SPAs, completion accounts, locked-box structures, and representations and warranties
- Have worked with SAP during cutover periods and are comfortable with finance data migration tooling such as LSMW, LTMC, or the S/4HANA migration cockpit
- Build effective working relationships across acquired company leadership, SAP specialists, legal counsel, and internal Finance and Engineering teams simultaneously, and structure integration status clearly for senior stakeholders
- Hold a professional qualification such as CPA, ACA, or equivalent
Note: We operate in an industry where women, as well as other minority groups, are systematically under-represented. We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all the listed qualifications; ability and impact cannot be summarised in a few bullet points.
Nice to Have
- Experience in defence, deep-tech, or regulated cross-border M&A, where compliance and data sensitivity add complexity to integration
- Familiarity with AI-assisted due diligence tooling for trial balance analysis, accounting policy review, or data quality assessment, and working knowledge of German at a business level
