About the role

We are looking for a motivated, curious, and detail-oriented R&D Intern to join our team and contribute to projects focused on lipid oxidation, oxidative stability, and shelf-life analysis in cream-based products.

In this role, you will work on the validation of a rapid oxidation analysis system used to support faster screening of lipid oxidation in product development. You will help establish the relationship between the machine output and the oxidative stability of our products, contributing directly to shelf-life understanding and product quality improvement.

You will gain hands-on laboratory experience while independently running your own project in close collaboration with the science team and creams design team. Your work will focus on ambient cream applications, supporting current business growth initiatives and helping accelerate innovation through faster and more reliable analytical approaches.

During the internship, you will conduct accelerated stability studies, perform analytical measurements related to lipid oxidation, analyse and interpret data, and summarize your findings in reports and presentations. You will primarily work in the laboratory environment, with occasional exposure to pilot plant activities and product development projects.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to combine analytical chemistry, food science, and product development within an international FMCG environment while contributing to projects with direct industrial application.

You will also take part in the intern challenge, collaborating with other interns on a shared project during your internship.

Join us in shaping the future of shelf-life understanding and food quality innovation!

So, what does it take to be successful in this role?

  • You are currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field at a Dutch or European university.
  • You are enrolled as a student for the full duration of the internship.
  • You have familiarity with lipid extraction techniques and analytical methods related to lipid oxidation.
  • You are detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing experiments independently after an initial onboarding period.

  • You have strong analytical skills and enjoy interpreting experimental data and translating findings into insights.
  • You are comfortable using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • It is a plus if you have previous hands-on laboratory experience and enjoy experimental work.
