The Role
Mach Energetics is seeking a Head of Safety to lead safety operations across engineering, manufacturing, laboratory, test, and operational environments. This role is responsible for building the systems, processes, and standards that support safe execution across high-risk activities. The Head of Safety will partner closely with leadership teams to identify operational risks and implement practical safety solutions that scale with company growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead company-wide safety operations across office, manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, and test environments.
Develop and maintain safety programs, operational procedures, and compliance systems.
Oversee employee onboarding, recurring training programs, and certification tracking.
Lead incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action implementation.
Conduct facility inspections, operational audits, and hazard assessments.
Manage occupational health programs including respirator fit testing, pulmonary function testing, and hearing conservation.
Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to support high-risk operations involving propulsion systems, energetics, hazardous materials, and test activities.
Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
Support emergency preparedness planning and emergency response coordination.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience leading safety programs in industrial, aerospace, manufacturing, defense, or other high-hazard environments.
Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices.
Experience leading incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
Experience managing employee training and compliance programs.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting aerospace operations, propulsion systems, energetics, or high-energy test environments.
Familiarity with hazardous materials handling and operational risk management.
Experience scaling safety systems within fast-growing technical organizations.
OSHA certifications or related professional safety certifications preferred.

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offers may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and training, critical skills, and business considerations.
