As a senior SAP Operations Lead, you will be responsible for the end-to-end performance, stability, governance and continuous improvement of a complex enterprise SAP landscape. You wil ensure SAP systems are highly available, secure, and optimally configured to meet business and operational requirements. IYO technical leadership across SAP application support, Basis administration, environment management and service delivery, while partnering closely with business and technology stakeholders to align SAP capability with organisational strategy and outcomes. This role is a 12-month fixed term contract based in Melbourne or Hobart.
Requirements
What You’ll Do
- Lead the operational performance, governance and continuous improvement of the SAP environment.
- Oversee SAP application support across core modules, ensuring stability, integration and performance.
- Manage SAP Basis activities including upgrades, patching, transport management, monitoring and environment coordination.
- Own incident, problem and change management processes, ensuring effective and timely resolution of system issues.
- Provide technical leadership and input into SAP architecture decisions, lifecycle planning and operational roadmaps.
- Collaborate with business units, infrastructure, cyber security teams and vendors to ensure reliable and secure SAP services.
- Lead and develop the SAP operational team, fostering capability, accountability and service ownership.
- Drive operational improvements through automation, optimisation, legacy system rationalisation and performance tuning.
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualification in IT or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- ITIL Foundation certification (minimum) or equivalent operational service management experience.
- Strong technical leadership experience within enterprise SAP environments.
- Deep knowledge of SAP Basis administration and SAP application support across complex landscapes.
- Proven ability to manage incident, problem and change processes in high-availability environments.
- Experience working with vendors, SLAs, support contracts and operational budgets.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical outcomes.
- Solid understanding of cyber security, risk and compliance in enterprise environments.
- Strong leadership capability with a focus on service quality, resilience and continuous improvement.
