We are looking for a strategic, hands-on leader to build and scale Talent Operations across a high-growth, multi-state organization. Reporting to the Vice President of HR (Talent) Strategy, this role will shape the operating model, systems strategy and service delivery approach that support the full team member lifecycle. The Director, Talent Operations will lead a newly established team responsible for HR systems, process excellence, and administrative operations, while partnering cross-functionally to simplify workflows, improve data integrity, and create a more seamless experience for leaders and team members. Key Responsibilities
- Build and lead the HR (Talent) Operations function, including team structure, service model, priorities and performance standards, to support a high-volume, multi-state workforce.
- Lead and develop a growing team currently including HR systems, operations administration, and shared support resources, with a strong focus on coaching, accountability and career growth.
- Own and optimize the HR technology ecosystem, currently including ADP Workforce Now, Zendesk, Greenhouse ATS and emerging AI-enabled tools, to improve efficiency, service delivery, and the team member experience.
- Drive process improvement and automation initiatives that reduce manual work, increase scalability and create more consistent experiences across the employee lifecycle.
- Establish strong governance around HR data, reporting and systems administration to improve accuracy, visibility and decision-making.
- Partner closely with Payroll, IT, Finance, Talent and business leaders to deliver cross-functional initiatives, system enhancements and operational change management.
- Translate business needs into scalable operating practices, documentation and workflows that support growth while maintaining compliance and service quality.
- Use data and operational insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities, and recommend solutions that strengthen execution across the Talent function.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive experience in HR Operations, People Operations, HRIS or a related function, including experience in fast-paced, multi-state environments.
- 3+ years of people leadership experience with a track record of building, developing, and leading high-performing HR teams.
- Strong HR systems experience, including hands-on administration and optimization of ADP Workforce Now and Zendesk; experience with Greenhouse ATS or similar platforms is a plus.
- Demonstrated success leading process improvement, systems implementation, automation or digital transformation initiatives in HR.
- Experience evaluating and implementing AI-enabled tools or automation solutions in a business setting is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with advanced Excel proficiency and experience using reporting or visualization tools such as Power BI.
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders across functions and levels.
- Excellent judgment, communication and organizational skills, with a strong bias for action and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or a related field is preferred, along with alignment to our Core Values.
Location & Work Environment
- Primarily remote role with flexibility to support teams across multiple states and time zones.
- Preferred candidate locations include Southern California or the Greater Phoenix area.
- Occasional travel will be needed for team connection, onboarding and key business initiatives.
