If you’re mechanically minded, solutions focused, and enjoy working across a wide range of machinery in a dynamic horticultural environment, this is your next opportunity.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Servicing and maintaining company vehicles, tractors, orchard machinery, and plant equipment.
  • Carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance programmes, often on-site across Mr Apple orchards.

  • Completing minor repairs and maintenance to keep equipment running efficiently.
  • Ensuring all maintenance documentation, MEX requisitions, and work orders are completed accurately.
  • Completing the MEX training programme and following all permit processes (hot work, working at heights, confined spaces).
  • Maintaining a tidy, organised workshop, work vehicle, and tool storage areas using 5S standards.
  • Providing operator training and support to orchard teams when required.
  • Working safely at all times and actively contributing to safety meetings, investigations, and continuous improvement.
  • Participating in rostered call outs outside normal hours when required.

What You’ll Bring:

For both roles:

  • A trade certificate (Agricultural Machinery preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with tractors, agricultural machinery, and light diesel vehicles.
  • Strong engineering and welding skills (MIG, ARC, TIG).
  • Good physical fitness – the role involves bending, lifting, and twisting.
  • Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
  • Confidence using computer based preventative maintenance systems.
  • A full manual driver’s licence.
  • Commitment to safe work practices, hazard reporting, and following all company procedures.

For the Senior CHB role (additional expectations):

  • 7+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, work autonomously and influence best practice.
  • Strong problem solving capability and confidence managing complex machinery issues.

What We Offer:

  • A mobile workshop van for work use when required
  • A stable permanent Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional call outs.
  • The opportunity to work with a wide variety of machinery in a large, innovative horticultural business.
  • Supportive team culture with ongoing training and development.
  • A role where your ideas, initiative, and technical expertise are valued.
  • The chance to grow your career within New Zealand’s leading apple producer

If you're interested in becoming part of our dynamic team, please indicate in your cover letter which role you are applying for—or let us know if you're open to being considered for both.
