This role is a Hybrid Role: Employees are expected to work from our Oxford, North Carolina office 3 days per week and may work remotely the remaining days.
The Inventory Accounting Analyst plays a key role in supporting inventory accounting and financial reporting activities at the Oxford site, directly reporting to the Senior Director, Finance. This role partners closely with Operations, Distribution, Warehouse, and Receiving teams to ensure accurate inventory tracking, analyze discrepancies, and support month-end close processes.
This role will support inventory reconciliations, validate system data, and assist in the preparation of journal entries related to inventory movements, reserves, and accruals. This individual will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively across functions to translate operational activity into financial impact. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to build foundational experience within a manufacturing and inventory accounting environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
INVENTORY ACCOUNTING, ANALYSIS & REPORTING:
- Perform inventory account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies across systems (EWM vs. ECC)
- Validate inventory movements and balances between Warehouse systems and SAP
- Support the preparation of journal entries related to inventory movements, accruals, and reserves
- Assist in analyzing inventory flow and reporting key variances during monthly close
- Monitor inventory aging and support tracking of obsolescence reserves
MONTH-END CLOSE SUPPORT:
- Support timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Validate financial data and ensure alignment across inventory systems and reporting
- Assist with variance analysis and reconciliation activities to support financial accuracy
BUSINESS PARTNERING:
- Partner with Operations, Distribution, Warehouse, and Receiving teams to support accurate inventory tracking
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand inventory movements and resolve discrepancies
- Translate operational activity into financial data and highlight issues requiring follow-up
SOX COMPLIANCE & AUDIT SUPPORT:
- Execute key SOX controls and maintain proper documentation
- Support internal and external audits (including KPMG and Hilco)
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies
SYSTEMS & DATA MANAGEMENT:
- Extract and analyze data from SAP and warehouse systems to support reporting and analysis
- Utilize Excel and other tools to perform data validation, reconciliation, and ad hoc analysis
- Support ongoing data accuracy and integrity across systems
AD-HOC ANALYSIS & PROJECTS:
- Assist with ad hoc reporting and analysis related to inventory and supply chain operations
- Support process documentation and improvements related to inventory accounting workflows
- Participate in projects to enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and data visibility
- Other assignments as required
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Finance and accounting or related field background
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial close processes
- Highly analytical with the ability to interpret data, identify variances, and support issue resolution
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across functions
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and accountability
- Motivated, self-starter mindset with a willingness to learn and grow
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BS Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- 0-2 years relevant experience in financial analysis, preferably in a Manufacturing environment or CPG

The base pay range for this position is $62,000.00 - $78,000.00 / year; however base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and geographic location. Certain positions may also be eligible for short-term incentives as part of total compensation.
Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits. Employees are covered by the company-paid basic life insurance policy and company-paid short-term disability insurance (the benefit commences upon hire and allows for a portion of base salary for up to 26 weeks if you are disabled). Other benefits offered to employees include but are not limited to the following: long-term disability, supplemental life insurances, flexible spending accounts, critical illness insurance, group legal, identity theft protection, etc. Employees are also able to enroll in our 401k Retirement Savings Plan.
Employees will also receive 3 weeks of vacation, pro-rated based on date of hire for the 1st year of employment and twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Vacation will depend on role.
