Catbird is hiring for a Merchandise Planner to join the team. In this role, you’ll oversee sales and
inventory planning across our growing jewelry collection, helping us balance data-driven
precision with creativity. This is a full-time position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced
environment and enjoys working cross-functionally. You’ll collaborate closely with
merchandising, retail, finance and operations teams to ensure the right pieces are in the right
place at the right time.

This is a hybrid position based out of our Brooklyn, NY office.

### Key Responsibilities

Planning, Projections: analyze sales, stock levels, margin and other key metrics. Own
end to end merchandise planning, delivering sales projections and target stock levels by
sku, style, product type, location,

Open-to-Buy: develop and manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans, recommend shifts in
purchasing based on performance and trends.

Reporting, Analysis: prepare regular reports, presenting recommendations re
assortment edits, product or category opportunities, liabilities.

Allocation, Inventory: provide per location sku minimums and assess stock balance
transfer efficiency; allocate inventory to optimize sell through, margin and stock
efficiency

KPIs: Monitor inventory KPIs such as revenue, profitability, turn, and sell-through;
identify risks and opportunities to improve performance.

Management/Leadership: manage, develop and train assistants and coordinators

Oversee the proper execution of department tasks. Co-manage projects and initiatives.
Represent Merchandising in interdepartmental efforts

### Our Ideal Candidate

4-6 years of planning experience, ideally in multi-channel jewelry or accessories

Adept at learning new platforms and systems

Strong analytical, problem solving, Excel, ERP and retail math skills

Excellent communication skills

Detail oriented

Flexible, able to pivot quickly, multitask and set priorities for self & team

Strong sense of urgency and ownership

Team player with a respectful, positive and supportive approach

Willingness to work overtime as necessary

Comfortable in a fast-moving, startup-like environment - scrappy, resourceful, and
excited to wear many hats as the role evolves
