Description of Task to be Performed:

AnaVation is seeking a Senior-level Business Systems Analyst to drive Agile processes, SAFe governance, change management, and requirements engineering across the enterprise.

This role is responsible for leading requirements gathering, analysis, documentation, and management within a SAFe Agile environment. The Senior Business Systems Analyst will work closely with stakeholders, product owners, technical teams, and leadership to ensure business needs are clearly understood, properly decomposed, and translated into actionable user stories, features, acceptance criteria, and solution requirements.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience supporting Agile transformation initiatives, facilitating organizational change, and improving business processes across complex enterprise environments. This individual will serve as a key bridge between business and technical teams, helping align stakeholder priorities with system capabilities, delivery timelines, and program objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead collection, capture, and management of mission user needs from prioritization through concept development.
  • Facilitate the gathering of business-focused requirements to support product teams and product owners in defining the backlog and ensuring the user's perspective is considered.
  • Focus requirements gathering on improved usability, user experience, and driving user adoption and engagement.
  • Identify core business needs and decompose and document in concepts of operation, story maps, briefings, and user stories.
  • Document business rules and construct workflow diagrams as needed.
  • Provide consultation on complex projects while considering business implications of technology application to the current and future business environment.
  • Conduct project meetings and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Coordinate with IT infrastructure teams to ensure alignment with business requirements.
  • Participate in Program Increments (PIs) and Agile Release Train (ART) activities.
  • Design and implement enterprise Agile transformation roadmaps tailored to mission objectives.
  • Coach senior leaders and Agile Release Train (ART) stakeholders on Agile, Lean, and product management best practices.
  • Establish Agile governance structures, metrics frameworks, and feedback loops for progress tracking. 
  • Assess current state, identify gaps, and drive improvements in delivery predictability, flow efficiency, and backlog health.
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding of new team members. 
  • Inspire teams, foster a positive culture, and drive performance.
  • Understand team member perspectives and goals, provide support, and foster a trusting and inclusive work environment. 

This position requires an active Top Secret (TS) clearance and the ability to obtain SCI access with a CI polygraph. This position is on-site with our customer in Chantilly, VA.

### Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering or related field.
  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) with a CI polygraph.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience leading a team or managing staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe, with experience participating in ceremonies including stand- ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
  • Proven ability to translate complex business needs into detailed user stories, functional requirements, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Ability to solve problems involving several options in varied situations.
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Strong experience with Jira and Kendis.
  • Strong communication skills to manage expectations, facilitate meetings, and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience working within SAFe or other scaled Agile frameworks.
  • ### Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
  • SAFe (Agilist, POPM, SM), PMP, CSM, CCMP certifications.
