Fleetwood-Bawden Elementary school serves approximately 300 students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 and offers a Montessori program. Subjects
Fleetwood Bawden Elementary School is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic professional educator to join their team as a Grade 1 teacher at the beginning of the 2026-27 school year! The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting students in learning, be enthusiastic, flexible, and an energetic team player who:
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of comprehensive early literacy and numeracy practices and brings these to life in primary classrooms;
- Understands the unique needs of early learners and designs engaging, developmentally appropriate experiences that foster curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning;
- Uses outcome-based assessment to guide instruction and respond intentionally to student needs;
- Creates inclusive, responsive learning environments that support a diverse range of learners and embrace student differences;
- Is committed to fostering a classroom where friendship matters, mistakes are viewed as opportunities for learning, and students encourage one another;
- Builds and sustains strong, collaborative relationships with students and colleagues in support of learning;
- Communicates openly, consistently, and meaningfully with families, recognizing them as essential partners in student learning.
Requirements
- Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
Conditions of Employment
In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School
Division who are offered employment must provide:
- A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
- A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
- Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
- Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
