OfficeLayton, Utah, United States
- Work with Supply Chain Analysts and planners to procure material in support of production requirements
- Compile and issue Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders to suppliers
- Conduct in depth data analysis to identify cost saving and cost avoidance opportunities utilizing material procurement strategies
- Utilize knowledge of best purchasing practices as a government contractor
- Demonstrate rich knowledge of Supply Chain Management field and how it operates in a Manufacturing environment
- Execute supplier negotiations in a coordinated effort with Purchasing and the planners.
- Compile and manipulate data in order to make informed business decisions
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education/Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline preferred
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in material procurement in a manufacturing environment
- Aerospace and Defense background preferred
- Knowledge of best purchasing practices as a government contractor
- In depth knowledge of Supply Chain Management field and how it operates in a Manufacturing environment
Security:
- Must be a US citizen
- Ability and to obtain a clearance may be required
Physical Requirements:
- Able to assess, install, and modify equipment, and inspect machinery
- Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp and reach with hands and arms, handle and operate hand/power tools and machine controls
- Perform frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements
- Prolonged periods of standing while operating machinery
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate safety gear (e.g., eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, etc.) for the assigned task
- Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time
