Paid role for DVM students

CityVet is currently accepting applications for Student Ambassadors for the upcoming academic year. This paid opportunity is designed for veterinary students who enjoy connecting with their peers, supporting campus engagement, and exploring career pathways within veterinary medicine.

CityVet Ambassadors play a key role in strengthening relationships between their veterinary school and CityVet while gaining valuable professional experience and mentorship.


Program Overview

CityVet Student Ambassadors serve as on-campus representatives who help share information about externships, career opportunities, and student events. Ambassadors work closely with the CityVet Campus Recruitment team to support meaningful engagement throughout the academic year.

  • Program term: Fall semester through spring semester
  • Compensation: Annual competitive stipend, paid in the fall and spring
  • Time commitment: Flexible and designed to work alongside academic schedules

Responsibilities

Ambassadors act as a liaison between CityVet and their veterinary school. Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact between CityVet and campus organizations
  • Sharing information about CityVet externships, career opportunities, and events with students
  • Assisting with the planning and promotion of campus engagements such as lunch and learns, networking events, career fairs, and student organization events
  • Supporting event logistics including space reservations, promotion, and day-of coordination
  • Participating in monthly virtual Ambassador meetings with CityVet doctors and Campus Recruitment team members
  • Providing feedback on student interests, campus culture, and upcoming opportunities

CityVet covers all approved event-related expenses. Ambassadors are never expected to cover costs out of pocket.


What Ambassadors Gain

  • Leadership experience specific to veterinary education and recruitment
  • Direct interaction with practicing veterinarians and clinical leaders
  • Insight into externships, mentorship models, contracts, and practice ownership
