About The Role
An exciting opportunity has opened up for Director – COO Office at Davy. As Director, COO Office, you will act as the enterprise control tower for the COO function, ensuring that strategy is translated into clear priorities, coordinated execution, and measurable outcomes across the organisation.
You will work directly with the COO and senior leadership team to drive alignment, pace, and decision-making across a complex portfolio of initiatives. This role plays a critical part in ensuring Davy delivers its ambition to become a simpler, more digital, more scalable organisation.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead the Office of the COO, integrating program governance, planning, and executive reporting into a cohesive capability alongside management of all project management activities for the organisation
- Act as a trusted advisor to the COO, shaping priorities, surfacing risks, and driving strategic trade-offs
- Own the COO operating rhythm, ensuring alignment between strategy, execution, governance, and outcomes by co-ordinating COO Office engagement with key C Suite and Board stakeholders
- Drive enterprise prioritisation and sequencing, helping align capital and capacity to the highest-value initiatives
- Establish and lead governance forums and decision-making structures, enabling pace and clarity
- Oversee portfolio performance, including delivery, financials, benefits realisation, and risk
- Lead development and implementation of Board and ExCo reporting, providing clear, insight-led updates
- Drive execution discipline and accountability, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of issues
- Enable cross-functional alignment, removing barriers to delivery
- Lead COO communications and engagement activity and consistent cascading of priorities across the organisation
- Oversee risk and audit deliverables and COO-sponsored initiatives, while supporting cross-functional alignment and organisational effectiveness.
Requirements
About you:
We are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills:
- Proven senior experience in strategy, operations, or transformation roles, ideally within a complex or regulated organisation such as financial services
- Strong track record of supporting executive leadership, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on priorities, risks and execution trade-offs
- Provide strong leadership, including coaching and developing senior leaders, building robust succession pipelines, and delivering sustained high performance across teams. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, while ensuring clear alignment with business strategy.
- Ideally has prior experience leading a PMO or portfolio management function, with oversight of delivery, financials, and performance tracking
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into clear, integrated execution plans, driving alignment across multiple functions and stakeholders
- Experience establishing and managing governance frameworks, operating rhythms, and executive reporting to support effective decision-making
- Strong capability in portfolio planning, prioritisation, and sequencing, ensuring disciplined delivery across both run and change initiatives
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder environments, influencing across business, technology, and control functions
- Experience in risk management and audit, with an understanding of governance and control requirements in regulated environments
- Excellent communication skills, with experience leading Board/ExCo materials, internal communications, and executive-level messaging
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and execution-focused, with the ability to drive pace, accountability, and delivery discipline across the organisation
