Infrastructure Supply Chain Coordinator

Posted about 8 hours ago

We are looking for a Infrastructure Supply Chain Coordinator in Sydney to help coordinate how IT hardware and related services are purchased, shipped, received, and recorded across APAC, so that engineers can stay focused on data centre delivery rather than inventory, purchase orders and freight.

WHO WE ARE

Optiver is a global market maker founded in Amsterdam, with offices in London, Chicago, Austin, New York, Sydney, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei and Mumbai. Established in 1986, today we are a leading liquidity provider, with close to 2,000 employees in offices around the world, united in our commitment to improve the market through competitive pricing, execution and risk management. By providing liquidity on multiple exchanges across the world in various financial instruments we participate in the safeguarding of healthy and efficient markets. We provide liquidity to financial markets using our own capital, at our own risk, trading a wide range of products: listed derivatives, cash equities, ETFs, bonds and foreign currencies.

Optiver's Sydney office is one of the primary players within Asian markets, trading a range of products. Established in 1996, we're an active participant on the Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan exchanges, and act as Optiver's APAC head office.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

We are looking for an Infrastructure Supply Chain Coordinator to bring structure and reliability to how IT hardware and related services move through Optiver's APAC region - from engineer request through to rack-ready kit in our data centres and trading colocations.

This is an operational coordination role for someone who enjoys keeping complex, parallel workstreams moving cleanly. You will sit at the intersection of infrastructure engineering, procurement, logistics, and finance - making sure the right hardware arrives at the right place, on time, with accurate records at every step.

As an Infrastructure Supply Chain Coordinator, you will:

  • Translate infrastructure demand into clean purchase execution- requisitions, approvals, orders, and receipts - with correct financial coding and compliance at every stage.

  • Coordinate domestic and international logistics end-to-end, including vendor quoting, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and last-mile delivery into core data centres and trading colocations.

  • Maintain proactive communication with vendors and forwarders on lead times and deliveries, escalating early when timelines risk affecting data centre or project schedules.

  • Keep inventory records accurate across the full hardware lifecycle, from receipt through deployment, so engineers and finance always have a reliable picture of what's on hand.

  • Partner with central Procurement and Accounts Payable within their frameworks - you own purchasing and logistics execution while they own commercial vendor strategy.

  • Improve workflows as APAC volume grows: designing clearer handoffs, reducing manual steps, and making better use of our systems.

WHO YOU ARE

You have experience in purchasing, procurement operations, logistics coordination, or supply chain - ideally in technology, hardware distribution, or financial services. You are comfortable working in a modern procurement or ERP toolset such as Coupa, with strong discipline around financial coding, approvals, and receipts.

You understand that supply chain coordination is not just about placing orders. It is about keeping parallel vendor and shipment threads moving cleanly, closing loops before they go stale, and maintaining the kind of detail and written communication that gives engineers and finance confidence in what's on hand and what's in transit. You stay calm and organised when several orders and stakeholders need attention at once.

You are interested in working alongside infrastructure engineers - learning enough context about hardware and services to triage requests usefully, without needing to be a hands-on data centre engineer yourself.

WHAT YOU’LL GET

You’ll join a culture of collaboration and excellence, where you’ll be surrounded by curious thinkers and creative problem solvers. Driven by a passion for continuous improvement, you’ll thrive in a supportive, high-performing environment alongside talented colleagues, working collectively to tackle some of the most complex problems in the financial markets.

In return for your expertise, you will be offered a competitive salary package as well as access to a range of Optiver perks, including:

  • The chance to work alongside best-in-class professionals
  • Competitive remuneration and additional leave entitlements
  • Training, mentorship and personal development opportunities
  • Gym membership plus weekly in-house chair massages
  • Daily breakfast, lunch and an in-house barista
  • Regular social events including a company trip every two years
