ABOUT THE LUCAS MUSEUM OF NARRATIVE ART
Opening in September 2026, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is dedicated to illustrated storytelling.  Founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, the museum’s collection features works by artists including Norman Rockwell, Kadir Nelson, Jessie Willcox Smith, N. C. Wyeth, Beatrix Potter, Judith F. Baca, Frida Kahlo, and Maxfield Parrish; as well as comic art legends such as Winsor McCay, Jack Kirby, Frank Frazetta, Alison Bechdel, Chris Ware, and R. Crumb; and photographers Gordon Parks, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Dorothea Lange. The Museum also houses the Lucas Archives, containing models, props, concept art, and costumes from Lucas’s filmmaking career. 
 
Designed by Ma Yansong of MAD with a landscape by Mia Lehrer of Studio-MLA, the Museum is in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, on an 11-acre campus that includes new green space and a 300,000-square-foot building with galleries, two theaters, a library, restaurant, café, retail store, and community spaces.  
 
### POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, Warehouse, the Assistant Manager, Warehouse Operations oversees the daily execution of Inbound, Outbound, and eCommerce Fulfillment operations within a fast-paced retail distribution environment. This role leads supervisors and frontline associates to drive operational efficiency, maintain service standards, and ensure accurate and timely product flow across all warehouse functions. 

The Assistant Manager supports workforce planning, inventory accuracy, safety compliance, workflow optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture. 

### RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations across Inbound, Outbound, and eCommerce Fulfillment functions 

  • Supervise and support Inbound, Outbound, and eCommerce Fulfillment Supervisors and Warehouse Associates to ensure operational goals and service levels are achieved 

  • Monitor workflow, labor allocation, and productivity across all warehouse functions 

  • Ensure timely receiving, accurate order fulfillment, and on-time shipping performance 

  • Support operational planning to manage fluctuating business demands, peak seasons, and staffing needs 

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and productivity 

  • Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and frontline staff to support performance and professional growth 

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment aligned with organizational values and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging (DEIAB) principles 

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention initiatives in partnership with People & Culture or HR teams 

  • Conduct performance conversations, provide feedback, and support corrective action processes as needed 

  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence across all functions 

  • Support inventory accuracy and operational integrity through partnership with Inventory Control teams 

  • Monitor order accuracy, fulfillment quality, and customer service standards for both retail and eCommerce operations 

  • Address operational escalations, shipping discrepancies, and workflow challenges in a timely manner 

  • Ensure merchandise handling and storage standards are maintained 

  • Maintain compliance with warehouse safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies 

  • Promote a culture of workplace safety and operational accountability 

  • Ensure proper use of warehouse equipment and adherence to operational procedures 

  • Analyze operational metrics including productivity, fulfillment rates, receiving accuracy, and shipping performance 

  • Prepare operational reports and communicate updates to warehouse leadership 

  • Support budgeting, labor planning, and operational forecasting initiatives 

### QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3–5 years of warehouse, distribution, retail operations, or fulfillment experience 

  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a warehouse or logistics environment 

  • Experience overseeing multiple operational functions or teams preferred 

  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory systems, and fulfillment operations 

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills 

  • Knowledge of EHS, OSHA, and warehouse safety practices, including incident prevention, safe equipment use, and compliance with workplace safety standards preferred 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational reporting tools 

  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred
