The Team & The Role

As a Strategic Finance Associate you will be part of our Finance Team and work closely with the Partnerships and Product teams, to make sure Plum is in good financial health and well prepared for scale! 

Typical areas of focus will include: partnering with functional owners, evaluating growth initiatives, financial analysis, business case modeling, unit economics analysis and investor relations. The role will fit someone who is proactive, hands on, analytical and curious about how to build a business sustainably. 

What You Will Do

• Partner with the business (in particular product and marketing / growth) to make sure we prioritising the right initiatives;
• Evaluate the economics and pricing for potential initiatives;
• Build and own financial models, including scenario and in-depth ad-hoc analysis
• Use AI to drive analysis and insight faster (our team now uses Claude Code on a daily basis)
• Develop frameworks to gain insights into revenue, costs, margins;
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, becoming a trusted strategic partner;
• Support on fundraising, investor management, board reporting;
• Embrace automation / AI across all Finance processes.
  
  
  

What We Look For

• 2+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting or high-growth start ups
• Robust knowledge of Excel and complex financial modeling - confident in setting up models and processes from scratch
• Strong analytical background and experience using data to drive insight
• Experience using AI agent to drive analysis and improve processes 
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Taking ownership of your work and collaborating as a team player
• Ability to influence senior leaders and present complex financial data with confidence and clarity
• Nice to have: 
• Experience in fintech
• Experience in cross-functional partnering
