Cost Controller

The Role:

The Cost Controller at Domes Resorts oversees the daily housekeeping operations, ensuring that cleanliness standards and guest satisfaction are met. This individual supervises housekeeping team members, coordinates cleaning schedules, assists in managing supplies, and provides hands-on support to the team.

Some of the responsibilities:

Invoice Management and Verification

  • Accurately record all supplier and vendor invoices related to food & beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, and other hospitality-related costs, ensuring correctness in amounts, dates, purchase order numbers, and supplier details.
  • Cross-verify invoices against purchase orders, receiving reports, and supplier agreements to ensure alignment with contracted prices, quantities, and quality standards.
  • Investigate and resolve any mismatches or discrepancies between invoices and actual deliveries, liaising with procurement, department heads, and suppliers as needed.

Cost Analysis and Budget Monitoring

  • Monitor expenses, ensuring costs remain within budget and align with financial forecasts.
  • Identify and investigate cost variances by comparing actual expenses to budgeted figures, providing insights and recommendations to management for corrective actions.
  • Work closely with suppliers to negotiate better pricing, payment terms, and contract adjustments to maximize cost savings.

Reporting, Compliance, and Process Optimization

  • Generate periodic reports on departmental costs, food & beverage expenses, operational expenditures, and budget performance for senior management review.
  • Track and input monthly and annual inventory data, ensuring accurate stock valuation for food, beverages, linen, and amenities.
  • Ensure financial records comply with industry regulations, accounting standards, and internal audit requirements.
  • Identify inefficiencies in procurement, invoicing, and cost control processes, suggesting improvements to enhance operational efficiency and financial accuracy.
  • Provide cost-related insights that help optimize pricing strategies, enhance profit margins, and improve overall financial performance in operations.

Self-Development & Team Development

  • Enhance both personal and team knowledge and skills to stay relevant and up to date with changing trends and directions in your function.
  • Prepare yourself (and your team if there is one) for additional responsibilities and potential roles within DOMES Resorts.

Requirements

Useful to have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in hospitality management is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years in housekeeping in supervisory role within a luxury hotel environment.
  • Knowledge of the English language.
  • Familiarity with cleaning procedures, chemical handling, and equipment use.
