About CORTO

We are CORTO, a cutting-edge software company dedicated to revolutionising the legal industry. Our mission is to empower legal practitioners with AI-driven solutions that streamline their workflow, boost productivity, and provide more efficient client service.

Our team of AI experts and engineers collaborate to develop intelligent software tailored to the unique needs of lawyers, paralegals, and legal assistants.

Our innovative AI solutions automate routine tasks, simplify document management, and enhance decision-making, allowing legal professionals to focus on what they do best—providing expert legal counsel.

We’re rapidly scaling from 80 to 150+ employees, with a highly technical workforce where around 90% of the team are developers and engineers. Working alongside our Sydney-based team of passionate high achievers, you’ll join a fast-growing technology business where things rarely stay the same for long - and if you’re smart, caring, and ambitious, you’ll be in great company.

What you’ll do

We’re looking for a Data Analyst to turn raw data into clear, actionable insights across multiple business units. You’ll write SQL queries against our databases, build Python scripts to pull and transform data for specific analyses, and deliver reports that help different teams make informed decisions. This role suits someone who enjoys digging into data, can communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, and is comfortable shifting context between different parts of the business.

To make this happen you will

  • Write, optimise, and maintain SQL queries to extract data from relational databases
  • Build and run Python scripts to process, clean, and analyse datasets for specific business requests
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc reports for stakeholders across multiple business units
  • Partner with teams across the business to understand their reporting needs and translate business questions into data requirements
  • Validate data accuracy and investigate discrepancies
  • Document queries, processes, and findings so others can build on your work
  • Balance competing priorities and requests from different stakeholder groups

What you’ll bring

  • This is a mid level role and you’ll need some solid hands-on experience writing SQL (joins, aggregations, window functions, subqueries)
  • Proficiency in Python for data work (pandas, basic scripting, working with APIs or CSV/Excel data)
  • Experience producing reports for business stakeholders – gathering requirements, understanding the ask, and presenting findings back
  • Comfortable working across multiple business units or domains
  • Some exposure to SaaS environments – whether as a user, builder, or analyst

Even better if you have

  • Salesforce experience (reporting, data extraction, or familiarity with the data model)
  • Experience with a BI tool (Power BI, Quicksight, Tableau, Looker, Metabase)
  • Familiarity with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift)
  • Exposure to version control (Git, Bitbucket)

You are the type of person who

  • Has strong written and verbal communication – you can summarise findings in a way that lands with the reader
  • Asks clarifying questions before diving into a request
  • Can switch context between very different teams – product, marketing, finance, exec – without losing the thread
  • Has strong attention to detail and a habit of sanity-checking your own work
  • Spots a manual process and immediately wonders how to automate it
  • Works independently and proactively without waiting to be told what to do next

CORTO is an inclusive, people-first company committed to breaking down institutional barriers that keep people from reaching their potential. If you meet some, but not all the requirements above, we encourage you to still submit your application.
