What is Data Engineer?

We are looking for someone who has worked in the field of Data Engineering and is eager to grow their expertise while working at Teknosys. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, innovative, detail-oriented, and customer focused, with a proven track record of delivering data solutions. The candidate should have experience working on data engineering platforms across cloud, on-prem, and open-source technologies.

What does Data Engineer do?

• Contribute to data engineering projects and support collaboration with other teams across Teknosys on data-related initiatives
• Support external client engagements within the domain of Data Engineering as part of a technical team
• Assist in identifying improvement areas in data pipelines and processes
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and contribute ideas for enhancing the Data Engineering function
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Help implement and follow practice frameworks for service delivery and engineering best practices
• Work on functional tasks across the value chain, from data ingestion to processing to storage and pipeline orchestration
• Build, test, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure to support data engineering requirements

What are we looking for and what does it require to be Data Engineer?

• Minimum 4-7 years of experience in Data Engineering domain
• Experience working in agile environment
• Hands-on knowledge of Data Lakes, Data Warehousing (Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server), ETL/ELT pipelines, and Data Management with experience in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and open-source technologies (Apache Spark, Hadoop, Hive, MinIO)
• Experience with modern data warehouse solutions like Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, Azure Synapse, or Google BigQuery
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Understanding of data ecosystem components including RDBMS, distributed systems, batch processing, and data orchestration
• Working knowledge of data modeling concepts including dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and normalization techniques
• Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, IBM DataStage, Talend, or SSIS
• Experience in one of these programming languages Python, Scala or Java
• Understanding of modern data architecture patterns and best practices
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker)
• Working experience in business domains such as Telecom, Retail, or Financial Services is a plus
• Good documentation and communication skills
• Experience delivering data engineering projects including data migrations, pipeline development, or data integration initiatives
• Willingness to work on and deliver on External Project Engagements on (Onsite / Offshore) Models.
