JOB SUMMARY:
The Systems Engineer will support the program’s Regional Systems Engineering team by leading early-phase systems engineering activities across concept development, requirements analysis, interface definition, and system modeling efforts within a complex command and control environment. This role supports the development of technical solutions through Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies, stakeholder collaboration, and Agile execution while contributing to mission-critical system architecture and integration activities.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lead the development of new system concepts by transforming stakeholder needs into technical approaches and system solutions.
- Perform requirements elicitation and decomposition using behavioral artifacts including use cases, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams.
- Develop physical and logical system models utilizing MBSE approaches and tools.
- Lead interface development activities through the creation and maintenance of Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Design Descriptions (IDDs).
- Convert system and interface requirements into detailed message-level interface definitions to support coordinated development efforts.
Support formal and informal engineering technical reviews.
- Create, review, and critique interface documents, system requirements, verification documentation, architectural documentation, and engineering estimates.
- Interface with program stakeholders, customers, and working-level technical counterparts as required.
- Participate in Agile development planning and execution activities including iteration planning and status reporting.
- Support systems engineering activities across concept, requirements, and design phases of the Systems Engineering Development Lifecycle.
- Work collaboratively within an Agile Scrum team environment under the direction of the Regional Systems Engineering Manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience performing systems engineering activities across multiple phases of the Systems Engineering Development Lifecycle.
- Experience with requirements elicitation and decomposition techniques.
- Experience developing behavioral models and system architecture artifacts.
- Experience supporting interface development activities and technical documentation efforts.
- Experience supporting engineering technical reviews and system verification activities.
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum development methodologies and planning activities.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely in both written and verbal formats.
- Ability to collaborate across integrated technical teams and customer organizations.
- Active Secret clearance or higher required.
- Ability to work full-time in an on-site, closed-area environment.
- Ability to support occasional travel requirements.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working within integrated systems engineering teams supporting complex technical programs.
- Experience covering all aspects of the Systems Engineering Development Lifecycle.
- Experience interacting directly with customers for requirements elicitation and solution development.
- Experience with one or more elements of the Missile Defense System.
- Experience supporting Space Defense, Space Domain Awareness, or related space mission environments.
- Experience supporting complex Command and Control systems with significant networking capabilities.
- Experience focused on concept development and requirement decomposition activities.
- Experience using MBSE tools such as Cameo.
- Experience supporting programs where technical execution directly impacts cost and schedule performance.
- Ability to support urgent or short-notice tasking while maintaining efficiency and quality.
- Systems Engineering/Architecture with Test experience.
EDUCATION: Bachelors with 5+ or Master with 3+ Years of Experience
LOCATION: Full Time/ On-Site in Colorado Springs, CO

SALARY RANGE: $105,000 to $122,500
