About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Senior Director of Social Strategy with a deep understanding of the dynamic tech and AI space. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for spearheading innovative social media strategies that not only align with our clients' marketing goals but also push the boundaries of social media engagement. Your leadership and expertise in the ever-evolving landscape of social media trends will be instrumental in establishing our clients' brand presence, fostering authentic interactions with their target audiences, and driving meaningful conversations within the tech and AI community.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and champion the strategic vision for social media across the team, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and client needs.
  • Oversee and guide the development and implementation of cutting-edge social media strategies that go beyond conventional approaches, ensuring a "Social-First" approach across all content and campaigns.
  • Lead and manage a team of social strategists to conduct in-depth audience research and analysis, identifying trends, interests, and behaviors within the tech and AI landscape to provide strategic insights for our clients' target audiences.
  • Oversee the creation of powerfully insightful briefs that inspire the Creative team to generate innovative social creative ideas that drive engagement and elevate the brand's social presence.
  • Collaborate closely with Creative Directors to ensure the team's delivery of high-caliber, original, on-brand, Social-First content that resonates with target audiences and fosters a strong brand social identity.
  • Oversee the creation and management of compelling content calendars that resonate with our client's target audiences and foster a strong brand social identity.
  • Lead the team to analyze weekly/monthly social media performance reports, extracting key learnings, takeaways, and optimization suggestions to continually refine strategies and maximize results.
  • Guide the team to proactively monitor social trends in real-time, identifying opportunities for brands to leverage these trends or conversations in authentic and impactful ways that are consistent with their tone of voice.
  • Oversee the development of comprehensive audits and POVs of best-in-class industry examples, competitive landscapes, and emerging industry innovators to inform strategic direction and drive innovation.
  • Guide the team to stay at the forefront of the latest emerging platforms and innovative technologies, particularly those relevant to the tech and AI industries and our clients' brands, and integrate them strategically into social media initiatives.
  • Mentor, train, and provide guidance to junior team members, fostering their growth and development within the field of social media strategy.
  • Contribute thought leadership and strategic insights to elevate the team's overall expertise and capabilities in the tech and AI social media landscape.
  • Manage and grow client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and alignment with their business objectives.
  • Lead and facilitate client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating strategic recommendations and campaign performance.
  • Proactively identify and address client challenges, providing innovative solutions to meet their evolving needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including creative, analytics, and account management, to ensure seamless campaign execution and client satisfaction.

About You

The essentials:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in advertising, marketing, digital marketing, communications and/or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in a social media marketing role, with a demonstrated passion for and deep understanding of the tech and AI industries.
  • A strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices for content creation and community management, with a proven ability to adapt to the evolving social media landscape.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging and informative social media content that aligns with our clients' brand voices and resonates with diverse audiences.
  • Extensive experience using social media analytics tools to track performance, generate insights, and inform data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Sprout Social) and familiarity with social listening tools and techniques.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and mentor a team of social media professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, effectively collaborating with them to achieve their business objectives.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify challenges, develop creative solutions, and adapt strategies to achieve optimal results in a dynamic social media environment.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

This role is subject to our Return to Office (RTO) policy. Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.

Salary Range:
$150,000$170,000 USD
