Warehouse Area Manager, 3PL
Spreetail
Posted about 6 hours ago
About the Role: Spreetail is seeking a hands-on Area Manager to serve as our on-site leadership representative at our Berlin fulfilment centre, with additional oversight of our Rheine/Düsseldorf facility. In this role, you will bridge the gap between our third-party logistics (3PL) partners—who execute day-to-day warehouse transactions—and Spreetail’s central functions. If you have deep warehouse management experience, a talent for holding partners accountable to KPIs, and a continuous improvement mindset, we want you to join our growing EU operations team.
### How you will achieve success in this role:
Hold the 3PL partner accountable to contracted SLAs and KPIs by monitoring performance, conducting structured reviews, and tracking corrective actions for any identified gaps.
Serve as the primary liaison between the 3PL partner and Spreetail’s central functions (Technology, Transportation, Account Management), translating strategic requirements into clear operational instructions.
Monitor real-time inventory levels, order statuses, and shipment planning via our WMS (Linnworks) to ensure on-time delivery and proactively flag discrepancies across B2B and B2C flows.
Ensure strict 3PL adherence to Spreetail’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), acting as the lead point of contact for rolling out system updates, new SOPs, or new client onboardings.
Produce regular operational reports for internal stakeholders and analyze WMS data to track metrics like on-time shipment (OTS), order accuracy, and inbound receive performance.
Identify continuous process improvement opportunities within 3PL operations and build collaborative, solutions-focused relationships to implement effective changes.
Fluency in both German and English is required (additional European languages are a strong advantage).
Demonstrated hands-on experience coordinating core warehouse workflows (inbound, outbound, returns) with exposure to both B2B and B2C fulfilment environments.
Proficiency in Linnworks or equivalent WMS/ERP systems, combined with a strong analytical mindset to leverage operational data, build reports, and identify trends.
Clear, confident communication skills with a proven track record of holding external partners accountable while maintaining productive, collaborative working relationships.
Excellent organizational skills and self-motivation, capable of prioritizing effectively and managing multiple workstreams autonomously across multi-site operations.
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent practical experience (certifications such as APICS, Six Sigma, or IOSH are a plus).
