About the Role

Univeris is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to support our Finance team through hands-on exposure to real financial operations. This is not a coffee-fetching role. You will work directly alongside senior finance professionals, contributing to live processes including accounts payable, receivable, period-close preparation, reconciliations, and financial reporting. If you are eager to learn, take ownership, and see how a modern fintech finance function operates, and are excited about using AI to make it smarter, this role is for you.

### What You'll Do
  • Accounts Payable Support — Assist with invoice processing, vendor data entry, and payment tracking

  • Reconciliations — Support bank and account reconciliations under senior analyst guidance

  • Period-Close Assistance — Help prepare working papers and supporting schedules for monthly close

  • Journal Entry Support — Assist in posting and verifying entries in NetSuite

  • Budget & Forecast Support — Pull data, update models, and assist with variance tracking

  • Financial Reporting — Help compile reports and presentation decks for management

  • AI & Process Automation — Identify repetitive finance workflows and assist in automating them using AI tools, prompt engineering, and workflow automation platforms

  • Ad Hoc Projects — Contribute to process improvement initiatives and finance transformation efforts driven by AI and technology

  • ### Required Skills and Experience
  • Education — Enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field 

  • Year of Study — 2nd year or above preferred

  • Excel — Proficiency required; pivot tables, lookups, and basic modelling 

  • ERP Systems — Familiarity with NetSuite is an asset

  • AI Literacy — Familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) and interest in applying them to finance workflows 

  • AI Agents — Experience building AI agents or workflow automations is a strong optional asset 

  • Attributes — Detail-oriented, self-sufficient, intellectually curious, strong communicator

    The Work Environment

    • Our location is downtown Toronto in office environment
    • Work is hybrid, collaborating with other team members in-person and digitally
      during regular business hours
    • Some work outside of normal business hours may be required on occasion due
      to month-end close, audit season, or collaborating with remote teams
