ABOUT THE TEAM & ROLE

The U.S. Renewable Natural Gas desk trades a high value commodity market that interacts closely with regulated biofuels markets and rapidly growing demand for decarbonization products. This role offers an opportunity to participate in commodity trading and renewables, complex systems for arbitrage, and a track to career paths in Trading, Operations, Analytics, and more within the energy commodities space. The position reports directly to the Senior Trader and as a Junior Portfolio Manager, you'll oversee optimizing the portfolio, making sure that all products in the book are matched to the right customer in the most optimal way. You'll collaborate with Operations to then make sure that deliveries occur flawlessly and work closely with our traders to identify any opportunities to extract additional value from our book.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Match portfolio to suitable buyers, allocate incoming volumes appropriately
  • Ensure on-time and accurate execution of booked trades in collaboration with Senior Trader, Sales Traders, operations and compliance office
  • Identify optimization opportunities and communicate potential actions
  • Monitor key portfolio indicators like positions, capital costs, and delivery opportunities
  • Track overall portfolio performance, validate exposures
  • Develop and maintain tools for portfolio optimization, identify new business opportunities

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 0-4 years of relevant work experience
  • Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, math, business or other related major
  • Proficiency in Excel (and/or VBA) and Python
  • Strong analytical skills and proactive attitude
  • Familiarity with essential trading concepts and keen interest in financial and (environmental) commodities markets
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to multi-task

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

STX intends on offering the selected candidate a competitive base salary withing the range of $80.000 USD – $140.000 based on several objective factors such as relevant experience, location, holistic skillset, and applicable licenses and certifications. The candidate may also be eligible for discretionary compensation as determined annually within the company fiscal year.
