The Company is an established German B2B software business serving a regulated segment of the healthcare value chain, with approximately 200 employees and over EUR 30m in annual revenue. Its platform is mission-critical to how its customers operate day-to-day and benefits from deep regulatory embedding and a long-tenured customer base with strong retention. The Company is profitable and category-leading in its niche, and is now entering a defining phase of product modernisation, commercial repositioning, and accelerated growth under new permanent-capital ownership.

The Opportunity

The Company is a defensible, profitable market leader in its niche — and the next phase is about unlocking the next level of growth. The technology platform needs to be modernised, the operating model needs to be sharpened around speed and accountability, and a more ambitious, forward-looking culture needs to be put in place to drive sustained, profitable expansion. We are looking for a CEO who can make fast and difficult decisions, build organisational capability, and lead the Company into its next chapter while preserving the strengths that have made it what it is today.

You will join the Company directly as CEO, reporting to a Banyan Operating Leader with operational authority over how you run the business. You will lead the senior leadership team in driving platform modernisation, commercial expansion, and organisational development. The business is durable, the product is the primary competitive advantage, and the opportunity to create structural distance through focused execution, operational discipline, and AI-enabled workflow change is real.

What You Will Own

Strategy and Commercial Outcomes

  • Lead the business through a high-growth transformation — making fast and difficult decisions, sharpening commercial discipline, driving profitability and embedding a forward-looking, profitable-growth mindset across the organisation.
  • Own the company’s strategic direction, market positioning, and competitive response.
  • Drive revenue growth with full P&L accountability across retention, expansion, pricing, and new customer acquisition.
  • Identify and act on AI-driven opportunities to reposition the product and create durable competitive distance.
  • Establish pricing and packaging strategies that reflect the value the platform delivers.

Product and Technology Partnership

  • Own the product roadmap at a strategic level, ensuring it reflects customer needs, market dynamics, and long-term competitive positioning.
  • Partner closely with technology leadership to drive a multi-year platform modernisation — aligning architecture, delivery, and AI roadmaps with commercial outcomes, and ensuring product vision translates into measurable execution.
  • Champion AI-first product thinking, identifying where automation, predictive insights, and intelligent workflows create durable differentiation.

Team and Operations

  • Build and lead a high-performing leadership team spanning Product, Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Finance; develop organisational capability and reshape where needed to support the next phase of growth.
  • Elevate talent density across the organization, making hard calls on underperformance with speed and directness.
  • Establish decision rights, execution cadences, and accountability frameworks that increase speed without creating chaos.
  • Communicate clearly with Banyan Operating Partners and stakeholders on business performance, strategic priorities, and market conditions.

What We Are Looking For

The CEO we are looking for is a growth-minded operator and commercial leader with a track record of taking a profitable software business through accelerated transformation. They have done this before in a regulated, complex environment — ideally within the German healthcare ecosystem or an adjacent regulated B2B software sector — and they understand how to make fast, difficult decisions while protecting a long-tenured customer base. They bring a strong grasp of organisational development — designing structures, decision rights, and operating cadences that increase speed and accountability — and are comfortable partnering with technology leadership to drive platform modernisation. They lead with operational excellence, see AI as a genuine strategic priority, and are credible with German enterprise customers, energised by the prospect of building a forward-looking, profitable-growth culture in a category-leading business under permanent-capital ownership.

Qualifications for success:

  • Owned the P&L and operational outcomes for a B2B SaaS organization, business unit or function, driving direct accountability for revenue growth, retention profiles, and margin expansion.
  • Demonstrated genuine conviction about how AI will reshape both the product and the way the business operates, and a track record of leading teams that embed AI into decision-making, workflows, and operational efficiency. Does not need to be the technical architect but must have credible AI fluency at the leadership level.
  • Built a repeatable go-to-market engine, establishing scalable sales and expansion motions within a vertical or enterprise SaaS environment.
  • Led an organization through a meaningful inflection point (a product repositioning, a pricing model redesign, a market expansion) before the market forced the change.
  • Delivered measurable structural improvements to net revenue retention and pricing power, turning margin durability from a strategic priority into a realized business outcome.
  • Elevated talent density by hiring and developing talent to fundamentally shift the organization’s performance trajectory.
  • Served as the primary executive voice for board members, investors, and key stakeholders, maintaining influence far beyond the standard sales cycle.
  • Led a meaningful business transformation - modernising the product platform and operating model while keeping the customer base, the commercial engine, and the team intact.
  • Deep familiarity with the German B2B software market and ideally with the regulated German healthcare ecosystem; fluent in German with strong English; based in or willing to spend at least three days per week in the Düsseldorf area.
