Our client is looking for a Lead Electrician who is accountable for running assigned electrical work in the field from mobilization through completion. This role creates value by delivering safe, code-compliant, high-quality work, keeping jobs moving on schedule, leading helpers and apprentices effectively, communicating job status clearly, and minimizing callbacks and rework.
The Lead Electrician is the field owner of execution on assigned jobs. That includes planning day-to-day work, identifying material and labor needs, checking quality before leaving the site, maintaining safety standards, and making sure the office and leadership team have the information needed to manage the business well.
### Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Job execution and field leadership
• Lead assigned jobs in the field and take ownership for execution, workmanship, and day-to-day progress.
• Review the scope of work, assess actual field conditions, and adjust installation approach as needed while keeping leadership informed of meaningful changes.
• Complete work to code, company standards, and customer expectations.
• Maintain momentum on the job and make sound field decisions that keep work moving without sacrificing quality.

Schedule and production management
• Manage daily production against the expected timeline for the job.
• Coordinate labor, tools, and materials needed to complete work efficiently.
• Flag scope issues, labor shortages, material gaps, or site constraints early so schedule impacts can be addressed before they become failures.
• Balance speed with workmanship, recognizing that finishing fast only matters when the work is right.

Quality control and callback prevention
• Inspect completed work before leaving the site to verify quality, completeness, and code compliance.
• Check the work of helpers and apprentices and correct issues in real time.
• Confirm materials, devices, connections, tools, and cleanup are complete before job closeout or transition.
• Reduce avoidable rework, missed items, and callbacks by using disciplined self-checks and field oversight.

Safety and compliance
• Lead safe work practices on every assigned job.
• Ensure proper PPE, lockout/tagout, hazard awareness, barricades, and site-specific safety requirements are followed.
• Maintain a safe work area for crew members, customers, and other trades.
• Stop unsafe work and correct unsafe behavior immediately.

Reporting and communication
• Provide timely field updates to leadership on job progress, delays, material needs, schedule risks, and completion status.
• Submit or support accurate work orders, labor reporting, and job notes as required.
• Communicate clearly with the office and leadership so customer expectations, billing support, and scheduling decisions stay aligned with field reality.
• Escalate major issues early rather than letting the office or customer find out late.

Helper and apprentice development
• Direct the work of assigned helpers and apprentices in the field.
• Teach proper installation methods, safe work habits, and jobsite expectations.
• Hold assigned crew members accountable for attendance, work quality, pace, and conduct.
• Develop apprentices toward greater independence while protecting job quality and safety.
### Qualifications
• Journeyman or Master Electrician capability preferred, with strong field leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial, industrial, and service electrical work.
• Able to read plans, assess field conditions, and identify material and labor needs.
