ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re seeking a Lodge Asset & Maintenance Manager to oversee the performance, reliability, and compliance of critical infrastructure and mechanical assets across our remote Outback Spirit lodges. Based in Darwin with regular travel to eight stunning remote locations across Western Australia, the Northern Territory, and Queensland this role is central to delivering seamless operations and unforgettable guest experiences.
You’ll lead end-to-end asset and maintenance management—from preventative maintenance programs and breakdown response to contractor management, compliance, and capital planning—ensuring our lodges operate safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Infrastructure & Mechanical Maintenance:
- Lead all infrastructure and mechanical maintenance activities across lodges
- Oversee buildings, accommodation, camp infrastructure, and critical systems including power, water, wastewater, HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical
- Ensure all assets are safe, operational, and compliant
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules
- Manage and prioritise maintenance requests and breakdowns
Asset & Reliability Management:
- Maintain oversight of asset lifecycle, performance, and reliability
- Ensure accurate asset registers and documentation
- Conduct site inspections and coordinate scheduled maintenance and shutdowns
- Identify and implement improvements to optimise asset performance
Mechanical & Fleet Oversight:
- Ensure all mechanical assets, fleet, generators, and equipment are serviced and compliant
- Oversee fuel supply, storage, and usage across locations
- Support fault diagnosis and coordinate repairs
- Ensure availability of tools, spare parts, and maintenance resources
Contractor & Supplier Management:
- Engage, manage, and monitor contractors and service providers
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements
- Maintain strong supplier relationships while driving cost efficiencies
Financial & Inventory Management:
- Manage maintenance budgets (Opex & Capex) and monitor expenditure
- Oversee procurement of parts, equipment, and consumables
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to minimise downtime
- Support cost analysis and capital planning
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, statutory, and company requirements
- Maintain compliance registers and ensure audit readiness
- Promote strong Work Health & Safety practices across all sites
- Ensure safe systems of work are consistently applied
Leadership & Capability:
- Lead, coach, and support maintenance teams across multiple locations
- Provide training, tools, and guidance to improve performance
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
- Support Lodge Managers with planning and issue resolution
Systems Reporting & Continuous Improvement:
- Ensure effective use of maintenance systems (e.g. MEX)
- Maintain accurate reporting, work orders, and asset data
- Analyse performance trends and identify opportunities for improvement
- Develop procedures, guides, and best practices to enhance operations

You’re comfortable making decisions, solving complex problems, and navigating the challenges of remote operations—all while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and guest experience.
YOU WILL BRING:
- 5+ years’ experience in maintenance or asset management
- Proven experience managing teams, contractors, and budgets
- Strong technical knowledge of infrastructure and mechanical systems
