Role Purpose
The Cardiology GP will work as part of the Medical Quality team at Neko Health. They will act as the first point of contact for ECG and echocardiogram queries from administrative staff and clinical staff across all UK sites. The postholder will interpret and action 4-lead and 12-lead ECGs and echocardiograms, escalating complex or urgent findings to the UK Cardiology Lead as appropriate. They will take an active role in both managing and developing the Cardiology service at Neko Health. This role is central to maintaining timely, high-quality cardiac aftercare for Neko members and ensuring consistent clinical standards as Neko Health continues to scale.
What You'll Deliver in the First 6–12 Months
A safe, efficient, and clinically consistent cardiology aftercare service is embedded across all UK sites, ensuring all ECGs are accurately interpreted, triaged, documented, and actioned appropriately.
Strong understanding of Neko Health’s clinical workflows, escalation pathways, governance standards, and member journey.
Strong collaborative relationships are built with clinical teams, operational staff, and external providers, contributing to a high performing, scalable cardiology service that supports Neko Health’s continued UK expansion.
Key Responsibilities
ECG & Echocardiogram Interpretation and Triage
Serve as the primary point of contact for all ECG (4-lead and 12-lead) and echocardiogram queries from administrative staff and clinical staff.
Interpret and action ECG and echocardiogram results accurately and in a timely manner, applying evidence-based clinical decision-making.
Identify and escalate abnormal, urgent, or complex findings to the UK Cardiology Lead, following agreed escalation pathways.
Ensure all interpreted results are clearly documented and communicated back to members with appropriate clinical guidance.
Support the development and refinement of interpretation protocols and escalation frameworks for cardiac diagnostics.
Prepare and co-ordinate the cardiology multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, including collating cases, circulating agendas, and ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are documented and completed.
Clinical Standards & Member Experience
Support the UK Cardiology Lead in ensuring consistent clinical standards and member experience across all UK sites.
Provide timely handling of routine and urgent member queries to ensure high-level aftercare in cardiac services.
Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable systems and workflows to meet growing demand.
Team & Operational Support
Support the UK Cardiology Lead in leading the cardiology team to drive clinical quality and consistency across sites.
Contribute to education and training activities, including onboarding new doctors and providing feedback on cardiac-related clinical performance.
Assist in monitoring cardiac-related KPIs and identifying areas for improvement across the wider doctor team.
Act as a secondary escalation point for complex member queries, external referral challenges, and inter-site clinical concerns when the UK Cardiology Lead is unavailable.
Support strategic planning as Neko Health scales nationally, ensuring cardiology services remain clinically excellent and operationally efficient.
Person Specification
Essential
Medical degree with full GMC registration and a licence to practise in the UK.
On the GMC GP Specialist Register.
Demonstrable experience in cardiology, including ECG and echocardiogram interpretation.
Strong understanding of UK clinical governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance (including CQC standards).
Excellent clinical decision-making skills with the ability to triage and escalate appropriately.
Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
Desirable
Interest or experience in cardiology.
Previous experience in clinical leadership, quality improvement, or team supervision.
Familiarity with digital health or health-tech environments.
