On behalf of our client, Keller Executive Search is leading the search for a Vice President of Editorial Strategy. This fully remote role will guide editorial planning, content priorities, audience strategy, and cross-platform publishing initiatives for a media organization covering science, public policy, global risk, and emerging technology.
Our client is seeking an experienced editorial strategist who can work closely with senior leadership to ensure coverage is distinctive, timely, credible, and aligned with long-term audience and brand goals. This role requires a leader who can think strategically while remaining closely connected to editorial execution.
Key requirements
- Develop and refine editorial strategy across digital publishing, newsletters, reports, podcasts, events, and special projects.
- Identify priority coverage areas across science, technology, public policy, environment, security, and global affairs.
- Guide editorial planning, commissioning frameworks, and major content initiatives.
- Partner with audience, product, partnerships, and revenue teams on growth opportunities.
- Use audience data, market insight, and performance reporting to inform editorial strategy.
- Support editorial standards, voice, quality control, and ethical publishing practices.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align editorial strategy with organizational goals.
Requirements
- Significant editorial leadership experience in journalism, digital media, publishing, policy media, or specialist content.
- Strong strategic judgment and ability to translate complex issues into compelling editorial programs.
- Experience leading editorial planning at a senior level.
- Strong understanding of audience growth, digital publishing, and multi-channel content strategy.
- Ability to work effectively with editorial, commercial, product, and executive teams.
- Excellent writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
