Overview
The personal and professional development media space is evolving fast, and our partner is looking for the right leader to shape its next chapter. IDM Brands is seeking an Editor-in-Chief on their behalf to take full editorial ownership of a well-established media brand and lead its content strategy in a lean, high-performance, AI-first environment.
This is a hands-on role for a modern editorial operator who leads by doing, works directly with senior leadership, and brings both creative instinct and a genuine comfort with AI tools to produce high-quality content at scale. The role is fully remote.
Key Responsibilities
The media landscape is evolving fast, and our partner is looking for the right leader to shape its next chapter. IDM Brands is seeking an Editor-in-Chief on their behalf to take full editorial ownership of a well-established media organization and lead its content strategy forward.
This is a hands-on role for a modern editorial leader who serves as the final authority across all platforms, works directly with senior leadership, and brings both creative instinct and rigorous standards to produce high-quality content at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all editorial staff and content workflows across digital and print platforms.
- Own and manage the editorial budget in collaboration with relevant internal teams
- Collaborate with senior leadership on online presence and content strategy
- Define and enforce editorial best practices to ensure consistently high-quality output across all platforms
- Serve as the final decision-maker on all published content
- Cultivate and maintain a broad network of subject-matter experts, writers, policymakers, and other contributors to strengthen credibility and output.
- Support strategic initiatives in partnership with senior leadership.
- Expand the organization's investigative reporting capacity and develop long-form feature content.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or a closely related field; advanced degree a plus.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of professional journalism experience.
- Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience leading editorial teams and managing editorial workflow.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong editorial judgment with the ability to make high-quality decisions quickly
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with modern audience-building techniques and media innovation.
- Proven track record commissioning and editing ambitious investigative and long-form feature work.
- Familiarity with purpose-driven organizations and audience or community engagement
Benefits
Base Salary: $140,000 to $160,000 depending on experience
