This role supports the AB adjusting team with administrative support, payments, scheduling Insurer Examinations, communicating with internal and external vendors, as well as ensuring they are acting in compliance with SABS on behalf of their team of adjusters with some telephone support.

Our Claims Assistant, Accident Benefits provides needed support to our Accident Benefits Claims team. This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent attention to detail and customer service skills. This role reports directly to the Team Leader, Accident Benefits.

What will you do:

  • Scheduling and rescheduling Insurer Examinations in accordance with S.44 of the SABS
  • Paying invoices and sending various communications (HCAI, Guidewire, Letters and other responses)
  • LAT file preparation (file copy) to our legal vendors in timely manner
  • HCAI matching to adjusters assigned to file
  • Requesting medical files (CNR’s, OHIP, Emergency room, ambulance call reports etc.)
  • Sending letters to claimants/legal representatives on behalf of the adjusting team
  • Set up new AB claims and/or claimants in Guidewire
  • Other various administrative support as required

What will you need to succeed:

  • 1-3 years of experience in AB Insurance/Claims Administration
  • Post-Secondary education or equivalent experience required
  • CIP designation, preferred but not required
  • Basic understanding of AB terminology, SABS compliance requirements ,written communication and payment guidelines
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Previous administrative experience in a Claims environment an asset
  • Ability to work well under pressure with minimum supervision
  • Able to multi-task between a variety of responsibilities, projects, and deadlines
  • Proficient skills with various computer applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Follow straightforward instructions with high degree of accuracy
  • Strong time management skills to adhere to required timelines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that enable strong communication with the adjusting team
  • Ability to multitask between various digital applications and platforms
  • Driven by personal professional development

Hybrid: We are a hybrid organization requiring two in-office workdays per week.

The expected base salary range for this position is $48,500 - $73,000. Depending on your relevant experience, skills, qualifications, market conditions and business needs, base compensation may vary. You have the potential to earn more through Gore Mutual’s discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
