The HR & Safety Lead keeps our people safe, supported, and growing. You own recruiting, onboarding, and the safety program for a 24/7 metals cutting facility scaling across multiple cities.

You will:

  • Source and recruit operators, machinists, and saw techs through trade schools, veterans networks, community colleges, job fairs, and direct outreach

  • Build a pipeline of skilled hourly talent in Detroit and LA before we need them

  • Run hiring end to end for hourly and salaried roles, from posting through offer letter

  • Onboard every new hire, including paperwork, benefits, orientation, and PPE

  • Administer payroll, benefits, PTO, and timekeeping

  • Own the safety program: written plans, JSAs, training, incident investigation, OSHA recordkeeping

  • Run daily safety walks on the factory floor

  • Build training for forklift, overhead crane, saw operation, lockout tagout, and hazcom

  • Handle employee relations, performance conversations, and workers comp

  • Stand up the same systems in LA as we scale

You should be:

  • Experienced recruiting hourly industrial talent in a tight labor market

  • Experienced running HR and safety in manufacturing or warehousing

  • Fluent in OSHA 1910 and state compliance

  • Comfortable on a factory floor in steel toes

  • Direct in hard conversations with operators and executives

  • Fast at building systems from scratch

  • Strong with modern HR tools and willing to use AI to move faster
