Posted about 2 months ago

OfficeSan Diego, CAEN80k - 90k USD

With over 30 years of experience in the acquisition, development, rehabilitation, and management of apartment communities across the Western United States, we are a trusted partner in the property management industry. At MG Properties, we focus on enriching lives – physically in our community buildings, philanthropically through giving back to our local communities, and through development and growth of our employees.

As an Investor Relations Associate, you will independently oversee core investor relations functions for MG Properties, exercising discretion and judgment in handling investor communications, process design, and operational decision-making. This role is responsible for managing investor-facing workflows, determining appropriate responses and escalation paths, and proactively improving systems and processes that support fundraising and ongoing investor engagement.

The Investor Relations Associate operates with a high degree of autonomy, evaluates investor needs and transaction priorities, and makes recommendations that materially impact investor experience, operational efficiency, and fundraising execution. The ideal candidate is a strategic, process-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance investor service with continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a 5 days a week in-office position based in San Diego.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for investors and prospects, exercising independent judgment to prioritize inquiries, determine responses, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Own and manage the investor experience across the full investment lifecycle, including indications of interest, subscription documentation, funding coordination, and post-investment support (deal inquiries, distributions, K-1s, and investor portal assistance).
  • Coordinate and resolve investor requests, partnering with internal teams to ensure timely, accurate execution and follow-through.
  • Manage and update investor-facing content and documentation (FAQs, templates, standard communications), ensuring materials reflect recurring questions, regulatory considerations, and process enhancements.
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of investor data within CRM and investor management systems, supporting fundraising, reporting, segmentation, and engagement initiatives.
  • Support and execute fundraising workflows by preparing materials, tracking investor status, managing documentation flow, and helping keep capital raise timelines on schedule.
  • Contribute to and drive process improvements by documenting workflows, identifying friction points, and assisting with system enhancements and automation initiatives.

Knowledge, Experience, Educational Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in investor relations, client service, operations, financial services, private real estate, private equity, or a similar professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing client-facing workflows, owning inbound communications, and coordinating issue resolution across multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to clearly and professionally communicate complex financial, legal, and operational concepts to audiences with varying levels of sophistication.
  • Experience with CRM/investor management systems, DocuSign, and workflow tools; Yardi or similar real estate investment systems preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word); ability to maintain, segment, and analyze data with precision.
  • Experience handling confidential financial and personal information in compliance-sensitive environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Additional Skills, Abilities, and Characteristics Required:

  • Strong written and verbal communication and customer service instincts.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, especially during active fundraising periods.
  • Process-oriented and eager to improve documentation, workflows, and systems.
  • Sound judgment in knowing when to resolve issues independently vs. escalate.
  • Professionalism and discretion with confidential investor and company information.
  • Calm, solutions-oriented approach under pressure.
