Position Summary
Under the direction of the Health Center Director and in coordination with clinical leadership, the Senior Health Center Manager (Sr. HCM) oversees the day-to-day operations of an assigned health center. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient clinic performance, monitoring budgets and patient trends, and addressing operational challenges to support high-quality patient care.
The Sr. HCM partners with site leadership and staff to implement quality improvement initiatives, using data and performance metrics to drive decision-making and optimize health center operations. This role also provides cross-site operational support and contributes to system-wide consistency and best practices.
### Your Day to Day:
Health Center Operations & Leadership
Oversee daily health center operations, including staffing, scheduling, and patient flow
Collaborate with the Health Center Director to develop and monitor the annual budget
Track visit volume, productivity, and patient satisfaction metrics; implement improvements as needed
Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture aligned with organizational values
Serve as the primary supervisor for unlicensed Team Leads
Address patient concerns, operational issues, and risk management matters
Staff Management & Development
Partner with Human Resources on hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations
Ensure staff are appropriately trained and oriented
Lead onboarding and professional development for Health Center Managers
Support staff engagement, retention, and team effectiveness
Operational Excellence & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and licensing requirements
Maintain effective cash handling, inventory, and operational systems
Manage appointment scheduling templates to optimize access and efficiency
Partner with Facilities and Operations teams to maintain safe and functional sites
Support audits, accreditation reviews, and regulatory site visits
Cross-Site Support & Organizational Initiatives
Provide operational coverage and support across multiple health center sites as needed
Promote consistency in workflows, scheduling, and operational standards
Serve as a resource for complex operational challenges
Support organizational projects, initiatives, and communications
Lead or facilitate meetings, working groups, and cross-site collaboration efforts
Provide delegated operational leadership in the absence of senior operations leadership
Additional Duties
Assist with annual budget planning
Support development of standardized processes and tools
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned
### Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered
5–9 years of staff management experience preferred
Experience in a healthcare or clinical setting preferred
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment
Demonstrated commitment to customer/patient service and satisfaction
Additional Preferred Skills
Bilingual skills strongly preferred (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese, or Portuguese)
Other Requirements
Ability to work evenings or Saturdays as needed
Willingness and ability to travel between sites
