This position will be required to coordinate, track, manage and keep radio frequency (RF) dependent devices operational.

Responsibilities

  • Must have background in broadcasting or equivalent skills including, but not limited to, use and operations of standard broadcast RF equipment.

  • Must be able to communicate technical issues with non-technical RF users and explain proper equipment operation procedures

  • Must be able to work well under high pressure situations

  • Must be able to focus on the task at hand, not the game

  • Must have excellent communication and people skills to interact with home and visiting clubs, broadcast production, stadium personnel and NFL staff

  • Must be able to provide technical advice to members of the home or visiting team without personal bias to any one team

  • Must be able to troubleshoot issues on non-game days, as necessary

  • Must provide coverage at the postgame press conferences

Qualifications

  • Must maintain continued technology education in broadcasting and associated industries

    • Membership in technical associations such as SBE or IEEE is helpful

  • Must have strong technology skills in the following areas:

    • Operation and interpreting Anritsu Spectrum Analyzers

    • Operation of computer for coordination software

    • Operation and interpreting Cub frequency counter readings

    • Operation of antennas, scanners, attenuators

    • Operation and interpreting of iCOM radio scanner results

    • Operation and interpreting of other equipment, as necessary

  • Must be able to qualify legitimate RF complaints with working knowledge of systems and current RF technology

  • Must be knowledgeable of changes in NFL RF usage surrounding an NFL venue and event

  • Maintaining the Event Frequency Coordination System at https://EFC.NFL.NET

  • Requires coordinating each credentialed media attendee and other RF operators for NFL games and events

  • Expected to keep up with Federal Communications Commission rule changes as they pertain to RF coordination

Physical Demands

  • Ability to move throughout the stadium or event space

    • May also have to climb stairs, stand for long periods of time, and carry equipment

Expected Hours of Work

  • Approximately 8-9 hours per gameday (setup begins 5 hours prior to Kickoff)
