The Building Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems and equipment to ensure a safe, functional, and efficient facility. This role supports daily facility operations by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and responding to service requests.

Pay: $35.00/hour
The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on the applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
401(k) – You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. ### Key Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment
Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and maintain service records
Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement timely repairs
Monitor building systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
Respond to work orders and emergency maintenance requests
Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Assist with vendor coordination and oversee contracted maintenance work
Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory of supplies
Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities and reports
Support facility upgrades, renovations, and special projects as needed
### Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade school or certification preferred2–5 years of experience in building maintenance or engineering
Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
Basic computer skills (CMMS systems, email, reports)
EPA certification or other relevant licenses preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders
Ability to work in confined spaces and various environmental conditions
